Hopkinton Police National Night Out August 2nd 5-8pm
The 3rd annual Hopkinton Police Department National Night out will take place Tuesday, August 2nd from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Hopkinton Middle School Fields. The event allows community members of all ages to talk with members of the Hopkinton Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies, view and learn about equipment, and enjoy food and beverages as well as a K9 demonstration.
The Hopkinton Lions Club Grocery Dash
The Hopkinton Lions Club Grocery Dash will take place on Saturday, October 1 at 9:00 AM at Price Chopper Supermarket, 167 West Main Street. To enter for a chance to be in the Grocery Dash, you may purchase a ticket for $20 (3 for $40) from a Hopkinton Lions Club member, or by contacting Bill Muench at 508-259-3382 or william.muench@comcast.net. Look to purchase tickets at Concerts on the Common, Polyarts, and other Hopkinton events.
Swimming at Sandy Beach is Closed Until Further Notice
The Hopkinton Parks & Recreation issued a message through twitter stating that swimming at Sandy Beach has been closed until further notice. They stated high levels of bacteria in the water is the reason. The tweet stated; "Swimming at Sandy Beach closed until further notice. Recent storms have created unsafe levels of bacteria in the water."

Networking Works! on July 28
The Massachusetts Council of Aging (MCOA) is sponsoring a Regional Networking Group program right in your local area to support and assist people 50+ years old who are looking for a new job or guidance in transitioning into a new career direction. This program is open to any individual who resides in MA and is 50 years and older. Networking meetings will be held at the Hopkinton COA biweekly on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 8:45 AM.

Video: Verizon Wireless Opens in Hopkinton
Verizon Wireless held their official Grand Opening in the newly built plaza at West Main Street. The plaza currently houses Starbucks, Unibank, Ideal Nails & Spa and now Verizon Wireless. The wireless mobile store is one of many businesses to open in Hopkinton during the recent months. West Main Street should continue to see increased traffic with the recent expansion and renovation of the Lumber Street Plaza and the newly built West Main Street plaza.
HCA Fall 2016 Classes and Workshops
Start planning! Fall classes and workshops at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts are now online and open for registration. Classes are available for ages 3 to adult in music, dance, art, and more!
New this session are Art Meditations for adults, Hip Hop classes for teens and kids, Audition Workshops for kids, Group Guitar for adults and teens, and a new Performance Choir for teens, among other wonderful options.
Roadwork Notice 7/25-7/28 2016
Roadwork is scheduled on the following streets. Work hours will be approximately 9am-3pm.
Monday 7/25 - Wednesday 7/27 – Hayden Rowe St – From Chestnut St to EMC Park.
Wednesday 7/27 & Thursday 7/28 – Wood St – From Rt. 495 bridges (near McIntyre Loam) to 700 ft west of Whisper Way.
Both roads will be milled and have a “grooved” surface until repaving occurs so please drive slow and use caution.
There will only be one lane of travel during the construction hours so please expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible.
