Hopkinton Education Foundation Trivia Night raises $2,800

Thanks to everyone who came to our Annual Trivia Night!! With your help we raised $2,800 for the Hopkinton Education Foundation.

A special thanks to Dino's Pizza for their wonderful discount and the delicious pizzas! Thank you to Stump! Trivia for hosting our event. And thank you to Chris Remsen for setting up the venue location at the Woodville Rod and Gun Club.

Hopkinton Garden Club – “Creating Healthy Landscapes with Native Plants: Why it Matters” - November 17, 2015

Native plants are increasingly recognized as important to our gardens and landscapes, but why? Claudia Thompson, President of “Grow Native Massachusetts”, will present an overview of the essential role of native plants in ecosystem health. She’ll start with the concept of co-evolution between plants and animals and end with a tour of her 7,000 square foot garden.

Hopkinton Center for the Arts Hosts Three-Day Show of Local Pottery

) The public is invited to the Primarily Potters collective exhibit and sale, running Nov. 20 through Nov. 22, at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts (98 Hayden Rowe St.). The exhibit is free to the public and guests can purchase handcrafted gifts and ceramic wares from the artists. The Primarily Potters collective is comprised of artists who have been exhibiting their work together for more than 10 years. A Meet the Artists public reception will be held Friday, Nov. 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Exhibit hours: Friday, Nov. 20 from 12 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m.

Winter Parking Ban Starts November 15th

The DPW wishes to remind all Hopkinton residents of By-Laws pertaining to the parking of motor vehicles during the winter months.

Traffic Rules and Orders, Town of Hopkinton, Article lV, Section 8 “It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, other than for an emergency, to park said vehicle on any street between the hours of 1:00am to 6:00am from November 15 through April 1.

$30,000 Raised at Hoptoberfest for the Hopkinton Public Library

On Friday, October 23, over 300 “Hoptoberfest” partygoers filled St. John’s Parish Hall, raising over $30,000 for the Library renovation and expansion project set to break ground in early 2016. Hopkinton Public Library Foundation’s Third Annual Hoptoberfest, a fun night out to celebrate the fall and enjoy all things local, helped Library fundraising top $700,000. In addition, a number of guests joined the 1000 Homes for Hopkinton Library, adding their names to the 1000 Homes plaque to be hung in the new Library.

Town of Hopkinton Seeks a Full-Time Water Technician for its DPW Department

This position performs work related to the installation, maintenance and repair of public water distribution system to commercial, residential and public properties. The Water Service Technician not only operates heavy machinery but performs a full range of complex tasks and works within established procedures and/or policies. At this level, incumbent serves as secondary Drinking Water License Operator and works with occasional instruction or assistance.
