Google for Parents Workshop

Need some help with Google? Have no idea how your students are using their devices? The HPS Educational Technology Team has created a workshop for parents to learn Google Basics so they can understand what their child is bringing home in a 1:1 environment -- and maybe even start “Going Google” themselves.

The Workshop will be held on October 14, 2015 from 6-7pm in the HHS Library

Abbie Benford Memorial Game

The Hopkinton High School Field Hockey team will be hosting a game today, October 7th in memory of Abbie Benford.

The teams decided they wanted this game to be in memory of Abbie Benford and to raise funds for the KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation. There will be baked goods, candy, drinks, Keep Smilin' bracelets, and shirts for sale. Stephen and Amy Benford will be our honored guests at the game.

Annual Halloween Party

Hopkinton Youth and Family Services & Parks and Recreation are inviting all Preschoolers through First Graders to their Annual Halloween Party on Thursday, October 29th from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the Center School Gymnasium. There will be games, crafts, prizes and treats. Please wear your costume!

Lights Up at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts

Please join us for Opening Night at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts! This fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 7:00-11:00 PM to celebrate the new Center for the Arts. Join us at 98 Hayden Rowe Street for live entertainment, an auction, cocktails and hors d'oeuvores. Wear cocktail attire. There will be a cash bar. Tickets are $125 per person, and can be purchased here. Please purchase tickets to RSVP by October 24.

Chocolate, the Perfect Indulgence

Just in time for Halloween, come to the Hopkinton Public Library on Wednesday, October 14 at 7:00 PM to learn about chocolate! Learn which chemicals elicit biochemical reactions in the human brain, making chocolate the perfect indulgence. During the presentation, you will also learn how to taste chocolate for quality and how to eat it, too! (Note: At this time we do not plan to have chocolate available for tasting at the presentation.)

Robinson Given Service Award

George Robinson, Bus Driver for the Hopkinton Senior Center received a Community Service Award at the BayPath Elder Services’ Annual meeting, for his contribution to the well being of elders in the town of Hopkinton.

George goes above and beyond the duties of transporting seniors in town. He keeps everyone laughing and smiling at the same time reciting the “Bus Rules”. He plans several Day Trips a month which include day cruises, museums, dinner theaters, seasonal events as well as shopping and antiquing trips.

Hopkinton Awarded $14M Grant for New Center Elementary School

In Boston on Wednesday, September 30, the MSBA Board of Directors voted unanimously to authorize the executive director to enter into a Project Scope and Budget Agreement with Hopkinton, finalizing and making official the numbers that we've been expecting. ESBC Clerk Rob Nickerson has reached out to local press with supplemental information, upcoming ESBC events, and the attached photo. Thanks everyone for staying strong and together to get us this far, a true team effort!
