FY 19 Budget Requests (Discussion/Action) The Board of Selectmen will continue reviewing FY 19 budget requests, including FY 19-22 financial projections and maintaining tax impact at 5% or less. The Board has invited the School Committee and Appropriations Committee to participate.

Community Safety Forum Tuesday March 6th

In response to community concerns about current safety measures and procedures in the schools and town, the School Administration, Chief of Police, Fire Chief and Director of Youth and Family Services will host a public forum on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 7:00pm in the Hopkinton High School Auditorium. Following the discussion, there will be opportunities for members of the public to ask questions and offer feedback. The public forum will be filmed by HCAM.

HDTC Electing Delegates for June State Convention March 1st

Hopkinton, MA. February 26, 2018: The Hopkinton Democratic Town Committee (HDTC) is holding its caucus for the June 1st and 2nd Massachusetts State Convention on Thursday, March 1 at 6:30 PM at the Hopkinton Senior Center, 28 Mayhew Street, Hopkinton. All registered Hopkinton Democrats are eligible to be chosen as delegates; they are invited to come to the caucus, where they can meet members of the HDTC, candidates for the May town elections as well as some regional/state candidates.

On Tuesday February 13th, the Board of Selectmen meeting took place at Hcam. The Selectmen accepted an ambulance fund gift in memory of Fire Chief Richard J. Macmillan. Richard commonly referred to as Rick MacMillan was a veteran of the US army and served the Hopkinton Fire Department for 35 years including serving as chief.

The Board of Selectmen also heard from the I.T. department and school committee regarding the 2019 budget requests. The School committee also talked about their budget requests including the proposed artificial turf fields at the High School.

Community Notice: Eversource has hired Stanley Tree to Remove Trees Interfering with Power Lines

Eversource has hired Stanley Tree to remove trees in Hopkinton that interfere with their power lines. That will occur from February 19 through March 9, 2018.

Additionally, Stanley Tree will be cutting trees on private property for which the property owner granted permission and they will be cutting trees on Town property for which the Tree Warden granted permission. The work zone includes Ash Street, North Mill Street, South Mill Street, Cross Street, and Front Street.
