Hopkinton Police Department Charge New York Man in Computer Technical Support Scam

Chief Joseph Bennett reports that Hopkinton Police Department detectives identified, arrested and charged a New York man who allegedly stole $10,000 from an elderly Hopkinton resident through a well-documented nationwide computer technical support scam.

MINHAJ ISMAM, AGE 21, JAMAICA, N.Y., was arraigned Thursday afternoon at Framingham District Court on the following charges:
Larceny from Person 65 or older
Larceny Over $1,200 by Single Scheme
Attempted Larceny from +60/Disabled
Conspiracy

Community Notice: Town Hall & Municipal Offices closed for the Holiday

Hopkinton Town Hall & Municipal Offices (including the Public Library and Senior Center) will be closed on 12/25/2023 & 1/1/2024 in observance of the Holidays. The Public Library will also be closed on Saturdays 12/23/2023 & 12/30/2023.

Due to the holiday, trash & recycling collection will be delayed one day for both of these holiday weeks.

Town of Hopkinton Welcomes 12 New Employees, Celebrates a Promotion in Multiple Departments Over Recent Months

Fruit Street Bridge expected to reopen at end of week or early next week

Town Manager, Norman Khumalo shared with us that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation has stated the Fruit Street Bridge over MBTA/Sudbury is set to reopen either late this week or early next week.

The bridge has been closed since February 2022 and will now reopen in the very near future and should serve as a bit of relief to traffic in the area and certainly more of a convenience.
