Community Notice: Corona Virus Update from Hopkinton Health Department

The Hopkinton Health Department is committed to protecting everyone that lives, works or attends school in our community. We continue to work closely with and receive guidance from the Massachusetts Department of Public health as well as the Center for Disease Control regarding COVID-19. It is our mission to minimize the risk of transmission of respiratory illnesses like influenza or COVID-19 by educating the public.

Red Cross Blood Drive at Hopkinton Middle School on Feb 29th 9am-2pm

The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at Hopkinton Middle School on Saturday February 29th from 9am until 2pm. Anyone 17 and over can participate (this includes people from other towns), and 16 year-olds can also donate with parental consent in the form of an eligibility form.

The Health Department would like to formally address the community's concern about
the risk of novel Coronavirus in the Town of Hopkinton. We acknowledge that outbreaks
of new virus infections among people are always of public health concern and are
working to make sure you are updated with information as it is released from the Centers
for Disease Control (CDC) and Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH).

Community Notice: Dementia Champion Training - Hopkinton Senior Center on Feb 6th 2020

This training will equip you with the knowledge and materials needed to facilitate a Dementia Friends Information Session with community members.
An Information Session is a face-toface session that lasts approximately one hour and is run by a Dementia Friends Champion. It covers the five key messages everyone should know about dementia through activities and discussion.

The goal of the Dementia Friends Information Session is to help community members understand dementia and the small things they can do to make a difference for people living with dementia.

Veterans Inc. Run4Veterans 5k to Be Held in Worcester

Worcester, MA –Veterans Inc. will host Run4Veterans 5k Road Race and Walk on Saturday, Nov. 2nd at The Beer Garden Pavilion in Worcester, MA. Funds raised will support the programs and services offered to veterans in need and their family members.

The event will be emceed by WCVB’s reporter Katie Thompson. The race begins at 10:30 am. Same-day registration will be open from 9:00 to 10:00 am.

Hopkinton Community Mental Health Needs Assessment

conducting an online survey in Hopkinton to better understand the mental health needs in our
community.

We encourage all Hopkinton residents ages 18 and above to participate in this brief, anonymous

The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) will conduct aerial spraying in specific areas of Middlesex, Norfolk, and Worcester Counties beginning on the evening of Tuesday, September 10 and continuing for several evenings. Spraying is weather-dependent and schedules may change.
