Walter Earl Straight

The inimitable Walter Earl (Pa, Dad, Grampa, Uncle Wally) Straight left us to be with his wife Barbara on Thursday, May 23. He was loved by many and left an indelible impression on everyone he met.

Walter's family moved to Hopkinton from Everett in the late 1940s. He graduated from Hopkinton High in 1949 and lived in town for most of his life, raising his boys there and finding work in the surrounding towns. He had a amazing memory for numbers and had success working as an office manager, accountant, bookkeeper, and purchasing agent.

Dexter C. Silva 78

Dexter C. Silva 78, of Hopkinton, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Susan Silva of Hopkinton.

Dexter retired as an Executive at Verizon. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Stephen Silva, of Ipswich, and Sharon Silva of Hopkinton. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Andrew and Zachary Silva.

Nancy A. Dyer, 84, of Framingham, passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Miriam Hanscom and Leslie Swain. She was the wife of the late Samuel Dyer.

Scott H. Mayo, 54

Scott H. Mayo, 54, passed away Saturday March 23, 2019. He was the husband and best friend of Nancy P. Mayo to whom he was married for 30 years. Born in Natick, he was son of Nancy (Hardigan) Mayo of Sherborn and the late John M. Mayo III.

Scott was a 1983 graduate of Dover-Sherborn High School and was owner and operator of Mayo Industries in Sherborn, MA.

Patricia Lee (Donahue) Todd, 97

Patricia Lee (Donahue) Todd, 97, of Exeter, NH. and formerly of Hopkinton, MA, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, at Langdon Place of Exeter. She was born in Washington D.C. on Feb. 28, 1922, the daughter of Helen (Connelly) and William Ross Donahue. She was predeceased by her brother, Duncan Robert Donahue, who died in World War II, and her adoring husband of 64 years, George H. Todd, who died Aug. 16, 2010.

Susan (Paxton) Miller, 70

HOPKINTON - Susan (Paxton) Miller, born September 6, 1948, died peacefully on February 24, 2019 at home aged 70 surrounded by family after a courageous four-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the wife of Ralph Miller, to whom she was married for 26 years. Born in Wembley, UK she lived in Milton Keynes, UK where she worked as a dental nurse before moving to Hopkinton in 1993.

HOPKINTON - Susan (Paxton) Miller, born September 6, 1948, died peacefully on February 24, 2019 at home aged 70 surrounded by family after a courageous four-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the wife of Ralph Miller, to whom she was married for 26 years. Born in Wembley, UK she lived in Milton Keynes, UK where she worked as a dental nurse before moving to Hopkinton in 1993.
