Lawrence “Larry” Marshall, 94

Lawrence “Larry” Marshall, 94, of Hopkinton, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, following a period of declining health. Born in Mexico, Maine, he was the son of the late Marion (Smith) and Lawrence Marshall. He was the husband of Ida T. (D’Innocenzo) Marshall.

Larry was retired from Wellesley College where he was the Supervisor of Custodial Services. He enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., Europe and Canada. Hunting and fishing trips were always full of adventure and camaraderie along with good buddy, Larry Carden and the boys.

Scott C. Martineau, 45

Scott C. Martineau passed away on January 22, 2017, in Hopkinton, Massachusetts after a long struggle with Wilson’s Disease that caused copper poisoning in his liver, brain and other organs. He is survived by his parents, James P. and Arlene (Dunne) Martineau of Fort Mill, SC, sister Elizabeth Martineau Bascio, her husband James Bascio, niece Jessica Bascio, and nephews Jared and Jonah Bascio of Rock Hill, SC. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins (especially Christine Dunne who always gave him extra support and encouragement).

Charles W. Luciano, 89

Charles W. Luciano, 89, of Hopkinton, entered into eternal life peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Born August 27,1927 in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of the late William and Anna (Curcio) Luciano, and was married to the late Italia “Edith” Luciano for over 68 years.

Charles retired from General Motors and loved spending time in his yard and garden. He also enjoyed coin collecting, crafts, fishing and vacationing on Cape Cod with his family.

Dr. John Healy Duffy, 88

Dr. John Healy Duffy, 88, of Hopkinton, MA died peacefully in the presence of loving family members on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Oak Knoll Healthcare in Framingham, MA. Born May 25, 1928, Dr. Duffy grew up in Fall River, MA with his parents and three younger sisters. He attended Durfee High School in Fall River, where he played trumpet in the high school band. After graduating from Durfee in 1945, Dr. Duffy enlisted in the Army and served at Fort Sheridan, IL until 1947, where he played trumpet for the 5th Army band. Dr.

Melinda Ann Hitchcock DePorte, 77

Melinda Ann Hitchcock DePorte, age 77, of Hopkinton, MA passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016. Melinda was born on June 18, 1939 in Glens Falls, NY to Patricia Blake Hitchcock and John Dayton Hitchcock. As a child she enjoyed playing with her brothers in their sandbox, which her father filled with real seashore-sand. She performed plays on her porch with her friends, designed and water-colored clothing for her paper-dolls, and read lots of books.

Dorothy "Dottie" Poindexter, 75

Dorothy 'Dottie' Poindexter, 75, Bradenton, died Dec. 9, 2016 at Blake Medical Center.
Born in Newton, MA, she moved to Bradenton in 1969 from Safety Harbor, FL and previously from Hopkinton, MA. She worked for The Bradenton Herald, then Poindexter & Sons Farm Supply in Ellenton, retired from Manatee County Government Public Works Department as Assistant Director, then for The City of Bradenton Beach as Director of Public Works.

Beverly J. (Welch) McIntyre, 88

Beverly J. (Welch) McIntyre, 88, of Hopkinton, died peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Charles McIntyre whom she married in 1951.

Beverly was born to the late Louis and Frances (Richardson) Welch, March 13, 1928, in Brattleboro VT. She graduated from Townsend High School and received her nursing degree at Framingham Union Hospital School of Nursing. It was at this time she met Charles McIntyre, the love of her life.

Ruth A. Kantzer, 90

On Saturday, October 29, 2016, two weeks after her 90th birthday, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother Ruth A. Kantzer, of Wrentham, passed peacefully away.

Ruth was born on October 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Terry and Avis Carlstrom.
