Video: Hillers Baseball Update 5-24-2017

On Thursday May 18th, the 7 and 5 Hopkinton Hillers took on 11 and 6 Ashland. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 3rd, Jake Leblanc came up with bases loaded and no outs. Leblanc knocked in 2 RBI's with a basehit to put the Hillers up 2-0. Ashland scored a run in the top of the 4th to make it a 2-1 game, Hillers added on to the 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 5th, with 2 outs and 2 on, starting pitcher Brendan Kelly crushed a 3 run HR over the Centerfield fence to put the Hillers up 5-1, the Kelly 3 run homer scores himself, Brian Gaughan, Chris Burdick.

It was a hot 95 degree day and track & field athletes from throughout the TVL competed to try to take home the division championship.

Below in the video you see results from some of the various events. On the boys side Dover-Sherborn took first overall scoring 101 points and 3 more than 2nd place Westwood, Medway came in 3rd with 86. On the girls side Hopkinton took home 1st in a landslide with 135 points. Holliston was 2nd with 86 and Medfield 3rd with 66.

Video: Hopkinton Hillers Boys Lacrosse Senior Night 2016-2017

Hopkinton Hillers Boys Lacrosse celebrated senior night after their game with Westwood. The Hillers lost the well fought out battle 11-10. Seniors on this years team include: Jack Feather, Everett Rolph, Alexander Kravets, Nick Horgan, Ryan Bannon, Jimmy Adams, Jonathan Katz, Matthew Laurence and Jeremy Hazzard. View video of the ceremony below and view photos of the Senior Night Ceremony here! The Boys Lacrosse team has clinched a playoff spot and currently has 13 wins and 3 losses on the season.

Video: Hillers Softball Update 5-15-2017

Wednesday May 10th the 10 and 1 Hillers softball team took on 7 and 5 Medfield. Bottom of the 2nd, Hillers trailing 1-0 the Catcher Jillian Cedia changes that witha swing of the bat. Bottom of the 4th Hillers trailing 2-1, Jillian Cedia strikes again and ties the game at 2. Katy Holly steps up with bases loaded and 2 outs and draws a walk to put the Hillers up 3-2. WIth the game tied at 4 a piece in the bottom of the 7th, Lindsay Whittles closes it out by crushing a homer over the centerfield fence. Hillers take the game in walkoff fashioned 6 to 4 and improve to 11-1.

Video: Boston Marathon 2017 Recap

-Geoffrey Kirui of Kenya won the mens title with a time of 2.09.37 and Edna Kiplagat took home the women's title with a time of 2.21.52.

-2014 Boston Marathon winner and local hero, Meb Keflezighi ran his final compeititve Boston Marathon and placed 12th overall.

-America had a great showing in the Marathon, 6 of the top 10 runners on the mens side were from America, including 2nd place Galen Rupp who finished in 2nd just 21 seconds behind the winner. On the women's side, 2 americans finished in the top 10, Jordan Hasay in 3rd and Desiree Linden in 4th.

Video: Scholars & Stars: Elite Kenyan Runners at Elmwood School 2017

For the 25th year in row, John Hancock introduced the Elmwood students to some of the elite Marathon runners from Kenya. This year the runners at Elmwood included 2012 Men's Boston Marathon Champion, Wesley Korir, 2015 Women's Boston Marathon Champion, Caroline Rotich and also Wilson Chebet, Geoffrey Kirui, Sammy Kitwara, Emmanuel Mutai, Daniel Salel, Joyce Chepkirui, Gladys Cherono, Valentine Kipketer, Edna Kipligat and Brigid Kosgei.
