Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition

The Ashland/Hopkinton council of the Knights of Columbus is holding its annual free throw competition on Saturday February 6th at Keefe Tech HS in Framingham. Competition registration begins at 1:30 PM and the competition starts at 2:00 PM. The competition is FREE and is open to all Hopkinton/Ashland boys and girls between ages 9-14. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and certificate of participation. Trophies and medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each age group for both boys and girls.

Hiller Hockey Big Win!

The Hillers pulled off a huge upset over Division 2 State Champion, Westwood last night 2-1 at the Boch center in Dedham. After being done 1-0 heading into the 3d. Hopkinton uped their game and scored 2 goals in the final stanza to take the Tri-Valley tilt. The line of Cam Finlayson, Will Abbott and Stephen Simoes accounted for all the scoring. Finalyson and Abbott had a goal and assist each and Simoes had a helper on the game winner with just over 5 minutes to play. Dylan O'leary made 32 saves on the night as the Hillers moved to 8-2 on the season.

Boys and Girls Track Defeat Holliston

The Hopkinton Hillers Boys Indoor Track team took down Holliston by a final of 60.5 - 25.5 to improve to 6 and 1 on the season. The Hillers finished 1st place in 8 of the 9 events. You can see the score card above.

Marathon Fund Committee Scholarships

The Marathon Fund Committee will be awarding six $1,000 scholarships, 3-female, 3-male, to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Hopkinton. Applications are now available at the selectmen's office in the town hall or in the guidance department at Hopkinton High School. Applicants must be attending a two or four year college or university and have earned at least one high school varsity letter. Applicants must also have demonstrated a willingness to give his/her best effort in academics and extra-curricular activities.
