As of 3/30/21, Hopkinton’s Health Department is reporting 886 total confirmed COVID-19 cases; 45 of those cases are active, with 824 recoveries and 17 deaths. You can see historical tracking and updates on You can see historical tracking and updates on Hopkinton’s Community Impact Dashboard:

At the local level, here in Hopkinton, we are beginning to see an increased surge in case counts. By way of reference and history, from 4/25/20 through 11/18/20 the average daily increase in positive cases was 0.6. 11/18/20 marked the beginning of a surge, where trends in Hopkinton matched general trends at the State level. From 11/18/20 through 1/24/21 Hopkinton’s average daily increase in positive cases was 6.3. Average daily increase in positive cases rates started to decrease around the end of January 2021. From 1/24/21 through 3/31/21 the average daily increase in positive cases was 3.9. However, over the past few days, we’ve seen the average daily increases in positive cases above 7, which is a higher rate then during the surge that began on 11/18/20. Please remember to practice social distancing, wear a face covering, wash your hands often, and be safe.

Hopkinton High School Traffic Patterns Changing - NEW UPDATE
With students returning to full-time, in-person learning, starting on Monday, April 5th, Hopkinton High School parent drop-off will require that Parents/Guardians:
enter the Loop Road for drop-off, but DO NOT enter the HHS campus at all;
drop your child off at the parking lot entrance and keep going (there is no queueing permitted);
do not make a three-point-turn on the Loop Road, but rather travel the entire Loop Road;
exit the Loop Road back onto Hayden Rowe Street.
We know this means letting students out of vehicles prior to 7:15; however, parking (or queueing up) on Hayden Rowe Street is no longer permitted. Traffic must continue to flow on Hayden Rowe Street.

Hopkinton Public Schools:
The Hopkinton Public Schools will begin full-time, in-person learning for all K-5 students on Monday, April 5th, 2021, per a regulatory change made by Massachusetts Commissioner of Education Jeffrey Riley. Full-time, in-person Middle School and High School learning will begin on Monday, April 26, 2021, as a result of a vote taken by the Hopkinton School Committee at their meeting on Thursday evening, March 11, 2021. Remote learning will remain an option for those students currently enrolled in that model.

2021 Annual Town Meeting and Annual Town Election Dates:
On Tuesday, March 23, 2021 - The Select Board voted pursuant to M.G.L. chapter 39, section 10, to delay the Annual Town Meeting, currently scheduled to commence on May 3, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., to commence instead on May 8, 2021,at 9:00 a.m. (5-0). After consultation with the Town Manager and Town Clerk, the Select Board voted pursuant to Chapter 45 of the Acts of 2020, as amended by Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2021, to postpone the date of the Annual Town Election currently scheduled on May 17, 2021, and to reschedule that election to
May 22, 2021. (5-0)

Vaccine Information:
Partnering with the Google Cloud Team, Massachusetts will launch a pre registration system for mass vaccination sites only starting Friday, March 12. This tool will be available at www.mass.gov/COVIDvaccine

Pre registration will allow eligible residents to book an appointment at one of the state’s 7 mass vaccination sites.

On Wednesday, 3/17/21, the Baker-Polito Administration announced the timeline for all remaining residents to be eligible for a vaccine.

Timeline for remaining groups:
March 22nd: Residents 60+ and certain workers
April 5th: Residents 55+ and residents with one certain medical condition
April 19th: General public ages 16 years of age and older

K-12 Educators, Child Care Workers and K-12 School Staff Eligible for Specific Vaccine Appointments Starting March 11th:
Governor Baker stated on March 10, 2021 that there will be specific vaccine dates set aside exclusively for educators and education personnel: 3-27-21, 4-3-21, 4-10-21, and 4-11-21.

To take advantage of these special education personnel vaccine dates, workers in this group must use the pre-registration system at https://www.mass.gov/COVIDvaccine to request an appointment at one of the seven mass vaccination sites and attest they are a K-12 educator, childcare worker or K-12 school staff

Hopkinton Town Hall reopened to the public as of Monday August 10th. Appointments are required due to the state's COVID-19 limits on building occupancy: Clink here for more information! All town departments are open for business and many transactions can be completed online. We are available via phone and email to assist during regular business hours. A full Town Directory can be found at https://www.hopkintonma.gov/departments/index.php. A box at the front door of Town Hall may be used to drop off correspondence, applications, etc., and they may also be mailed or emailed.

The Hopkinton Public LIbrary building is open for walk-in browsing and curbside pickup. Please see the library website, www.hopkintonlibrary.org, for information.
