This Friday evening on May 15th, host Cheryl Perreault will talk with singer-songwriter Ruthann Baler from her home in New York City and
mixed- media artist/poet, Catherine Weber of Southborough, MA. The first half hour Ruthann will share a few of her original songs, speak about what inspires her songwriting and also talk about her involvement with past and present fundraisers to assist community members in need. In the second half hour, Catherine Weber will share some of her original poetry and speak of her current work as director of the Art on the Trails. This annual event is an outdoor sculpture exhibit that invites artists and poets to submit their art-work and poetry to offer as a juried outdoor exhibit in Southborough, MA. More recently she has also been involved as a typewriter poet who has been inspired to type poems on demand for people who request a poetic tribute for a loved one. Ruthann Schulman Baler
Ruthann Schulman Baler is a singer-songwriter whose songs have been described as a blend of pop and folk, with blues and country undertones. She released her first album “Life on Mars” in 2009 and released “Rivers & Trains” in 2018. Her latest CD is a 10-track album that features rivers, trains, and roads as the symbolic channels through life’s changes. After living in the Boston area for many years she moved to NYC this year to be closer to family. She is currently working on new music projects and is involved with the NYC Songwriter Collective.

Catherine Weber Catherine Weber is a mixed media artist who works with encaustic, photography, paper, and textiles, predominately focusing on natural materials and subject matter. She was raised in upstate New York, Indiana, and Connecticut and now lives in central Massachusetts. She holds a BA in Communications from Emerson College and an MA in Critical and Creative Thinking from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She has exhibited her work across the country, especially in the Northeast, including at Danforth Art/Museum in Framingham, MA, the Saco Museum of Art in Maine, Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, CT, The Art Complex Museum in Duxbury, MA, and A Gallery in Provincetown, MA. Her work can be seen at Fountain Street Fine Art in Boston, Massachusetts. She is past chair of the Southborough Center for the Arts in Southborough, MA and creative director of Art on the Trails, a public art and poetry program in Southborough, Massachusett.
