Gail J. (Stephens) Welch, 73, of Hopkinton passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, January 19th, 2018 at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. She was born on July 8th 1944 in Camden, NJ to the late Norton and Josephine (Emerson) Stephens.
Gail was a graduated of Hopkinton High School Class of 1962.
She worked for many years as the office manager for Northeastern Construction Company in Framingham.
In her spare time, Gail enjoyed spending time with her family and friends more than anything. She was there for us all and helping others was what came natural to her. And of course those closest to her knew about that annual trip to Las Vegas and how much she looked forward to it each year.
She is survived by her husband, George T. Welch, her daughter Sherry Starkey and her husband Jonathan, Stepdaughter, Tracy Welch, Stepson, George T. Welch, Jr., grandchildren, Hope Splaine, Samantha King, Daniel King, Dillon Welch, and Justin Welch. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Provost, June Gates, Vera “Bunny” Stephens and also numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com 57 Hayden Rowe Street, Hopkinton, MA. At the request of her family, funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 0170.
