The following students have been selected to perform, based on their successful auditions, in the 2018 Central District Massachusetts Music Educators Senior High School Festival at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA on Saturday, January 13, 2018. Musicians from Hopkinton include: David Antaki, Trumpet; Rachael Chen, Flute; Matthew Dempsey, Bass, Chorus; Yuyue Dong, Alto, Chorus; Jessie Franks, Bassoon; An-Chi Huang, Violin; Andrew Keeley, Trombone; Abbey Kelley-Lanser, Alto, Chorus; Andrea Liu, Violin; Dan Moreno, Bass Clarinet; Advait Nene, Bass Clarinet; Andrew Palleiko, Trumpet; Mirabella Paolucci, Viola; Kyle Stukel, Trumpet.
Students from approximately 64 high schools in the district auditioned in early November 2017. Wachusett Regional High School Music Department in Holden, MA, will host rehearsals of the Concert Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Chorus ensembles during the 3-day Festival. The following students earned a recommendation to audition for the 2018 Massachusetts Music Educators All State Festival: David Antaki, Rachael Chen, Matthew Dempsey, Jessie Franks, Andrew Keeley, Abbey Kelley-Lanser, Andrea Liu, Daniel Moreno, and Advait Nene. At this time, All State auditions will take place January 20, 2018 at Shrewsbury High School.
