Jo-Anne M. (Frieh) Kinney, 81

Jo-Anne M. (Frieh) Kinney, 81, a longtime Upton resident, ​
passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 ​
at Beaumont Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center, Northbridge.​
Born in Hopkinton, on July 7, 1938, she was the daughter ​
of the late Francis and Agnes (Pyne) Frieh. Raised & educated ​
in Hopkinton, a graduate of Hopkinton High School.​
Prior to retirement, Ms. Kinney was employed as a campus police
officer at the Westboro State Hospital for 26 years. ​
She also was employed as a crossing guard, dispatcher, and ​
special police officer at the Upton Police Dept for over 20 years. ​
More than anything, Jo-Anne enjoyed spending time with family
& friends, gardening and vacationing on the Cape.​
She is survived by her two children, Beth Parkinson &
her husband George, of Douglas, and John “Jack” Kinney of
Framingham; five granddaughters, Katelyn & Corey Parkinson,
Chelsea MacLean, Morgan & Sydney Kinney; and two great-grandsons.​
She is predeceased by her brother, Philip Frieh.​
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, Nov. 19,
at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon St., Upton,
followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.​
Calling hours are from 4 to 6 PM on Monday, November 18,
in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, Inc., 45 Main Street,
Upton, Andrew D. Pickering - Director.​
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the
Upton Senior Center, 2 Farm St. Upton, MA 01568 or to the Upton
Fire and EMS Association, PO Box 580, Upton, MA 01568.​
