Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) announces the return of the Local Scene music series this May. The series of five concerts, sponsored by Middlesex Savings Bank, is a showcase for local music talent from Boston and the MetroWest region. Groove Authority will premiere the start of the series on Friday, May 17 with dance music featuring top 40 hits, Motown, funk, disco, swing, and pop. All concerts will be in the Delbridge Family Performance Space at the HCA, 98 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the band starts at 8 p.m. Cash bar. New this year, parents and caregivers can take advantage of onsite child watch for a small fee. Tickets can be purchased online at www.hopartscenter.org or at the box office.

“Thanks to the generosity of Middlesex Savings Bank we are able to continue providing a platform and venue for local bands to perform,” HCA Director Kelly Grill said. “The series also provides a place for people to meet up, grab a drink, listen to some great music, and dance.”
