M. Lorraine Sniffen, Venice, FL passed away Monday, December 9, 2019, following a brief illness. Born in Framingham, MA she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Robertson) Irvine of Hopkinton, MA..
Lorraine attended Syracuse University and earned her RN from Framingham Union School of Nursing. She went on to work at Framingham Union Hospital before relocating to Florida in 2000. In her earlier years, she was an operating room scrub nurse, craft store owner, child care provider and dental technician. Lorraine was also very active in the church, serving as treasurer of St. Paul’s Episcopal church in Hopkinton.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Mark W. Sniffen, Venice, FL their son, Andrew C. Sniffen and his wife, Kristin, Anchorage, AK and daughter, Amy J. Sniffen of Medway, MA. She also leaves behind her brother, William Irvine and his wife, Patricia, of Boone, NC as well as three grandchildren, Tyler Neves, Keyette-Lei Neves and Xavier Maxcey. She is predeceased by her brother, Richard Irvine who passed away December 8, 2014.
A celebration of life will be held in the Hopkinton, MA area in the spring of 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA.
