What a game we had on Sunday!

The New England Patriots faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers in a soaked Gillette Stadium. The Patriots won 21-13 in decisive fashion. QB Tom Brady had yet another standout game, throwing for 333 yards and a touchdown to TE Rob Gronkowski in the first quarter. The touchdown marked the 72nd time the two have connected for a score and it is the most TDs among any NFL duo since 2010. The Player of the Game for the Patriots, however, was kicker Stephen Gostkowski, who successfully made 4 field goals while playing in the elements.

On the other side of the ball, the Patriot defense picked up where they had left off last week against the Atlanta Falcons. The Chargers and QB Phillip Rivers were not able to get into a rhythm all game and had difficulty progressing their possessions for extended amounts of time. Credit goes to Defensive Coordinator Matt Patricia who has turned the defense around after a sub-par performance in the beginning of the season. The Patriot defense came up huge in the final minutes of the game by stopping the Chargers from finding the end zone to tie the game and go to overtime. In order for the Patriots to go far this season, the defense will have to play at this level.

Looking ahead, the Patriots have a bye next week and then will play the Denver Broncos in Denver on November 12th.

Until then, rest up and get ready to finish the year off strong!
