Patriots vs Texans Preview

The weekend starts here! The New England Patriots will play the Houston Texans in Gillette Stadium at 8:25 pm. With both Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo out, third string quarterback Jacoby Brissett will get the start. TE Rob Gronkowski has been out since the start of the season with a hamstring injury, but plans to start today. The talk of the week, however, is that WR Julian Edelman will be the back-up quarterback. Edelman was a quarterback at Kent State and all Patriot fans remember his incredible TD pass to Danny Amendola vs the Ravens a few years back. I think it is a great idea by Belichick and I hope to see Edelman showcase his arm talent. The Patriots have looked impressive in their first 2 games with wins over the Cardinals and Dolphins. The Houston Texans have also looked impressive to start out the season. They have won their first 2 games with QB Brock Osweiler leading the offense and DE JJ Watt commanding the defense. Head Coach Bill O'Brien has been apart the Patriots as offensive coordinator so it will be a nice reunion for him and Coach Bill Belichick. I think this game will be relatively low scoring. Both defenses have looked solid and I don't think that the offenses will get things rolling until late in the game. I think the Patriots will pull away in the 4th quarter but it is going to be close.
