Dear Editor,

I am writing in support of Amy Ritterbusch for School Committee. Amy is an effective community activist whose work goes beyond the schools. She proved this at Annual Town meeting when she gained approval for a citizen’s petition that created an approval process for banners over Main Street to promote events like Town Meeting. Amy was praised by several people at Town Meeting because of how well she reached out to multiple town boards and committees to gain their support. She is clearly in touch with the community beyond the “school crowd.”

This is not to say that Amy is not keenly aware of the needs of the school district. She is a familiar face in the audience at School Committee and school events. Several times in recent years, Amy has launched petitions or informational campaigns on school issues, providing valuable feedback to the School Committee on parents’ views on issues. She will be able to jump in immediately and get to work on key issues.

Amy is an involved community leader with great communication and outreach skills, who understands the issues in Town, who knows how to work her way around town government to make changes, and who will be able to use the relationships she has developed with all segments of our community to represent their interests and to gain their support.

I urge you to vote for Amy Ritterbusch for School Committee on May 20th.
