A Special Concert Just in Time for Mother’s Day HCA Classical Music Series Presents the Reverie Duo

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) presents a Mother’s Day Classical Music Concert, featuring the Reverie Duo, on Sunday, May 13 at 3 p.m. Kathy Burmeister, harp and Christine Tsen, cello, will bring their signature sound to the works of Vivaldi, Henson-Conant, Dvořák, Pachelbel, and Saint-Saëns. Tickets are $15 adults, $10 seniors/students. The concert will take place in the Delbridge Family Performance Space at 98 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton, MA. Complimentary coffee, tea, and light refreshments included with admission. Tickets may be purchased at ​www.HopArtsCenter.org​.

Reverie​ (Kathy Burmeister, harp and Christine Tsen, cello) perform all styles of classical compositions while adding their own signature interpretations to each.

Christine Tsen​ is a cellist and poet who has performed both as soloist and in ensembles in America and Europe. Her performance credits include the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, Heidelberg Castle Opera Orchestra, Greece Symphony, Acton-Concord Chamber Orchestra, New World Symphony, and Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra. Tsen graduated from the Eastman School of Music (BM) and the New England Conservatory of Music (MM).

Katherine Burmeister ​came to the United States from South Africa in 1998, where she obtained her B.F.A., specializing in Harp Performance and Teaching from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg under the instruction of Ventura Rosenthal, principal harpist of the National Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with several orchestras and ensemble groups both in South Africa and locally. Burmeister has also performed with Calliope Theatre and The Flyleaf Theatre Company.

The ​Hopkinton Center for the Arts​ offers arts to all people. ​Classes, productions, and exhibitions serve an inclusive community of students, performers, and exhibiting artists diverse in age, ability, experience, ethnicity, and geography.

In the visual arts, theater, music, and dance, HCA annually offers over 200 classes to more than 1,000 students, from preschool to seniors, drawn from more than 40 neighboring cities and towns. In 2015 the HCA opened its new arts center, with newly renovated classrooms, a new 200-seat performance space, and new gallery spaces. The Delbridge Family Performance Space and the Lotvin Family Gallery annually present dozens of productions and exhibitions.
