It does not get any better than this: Super Bowl LI! The New England Patriots will play the Atlanta Falcons in Houston at 6:30 pm today. Yesterday it was announced that QB Matt Ryan, of the Atlanta Falcons, won the Most Valuable Player at the 6th annual NFL Honors. Ryan is very deserving of this honor as he has had the best season of his career, throwing for nearly 5,000 yards and 38 touchdowns. The Atlanta Falcons in all have a complete and versatile team with so many astute players on both sides of the ball. WR Julio Jones has been the Falcons X-Factor on offense, having caught 3 touchdowns and received over 200 yards in the playoffs. The Falcons offense is currently ranked #1 in points scored per game and are showing no signs of slowing down. In order for the Falcons to win this game, they will need to get off to a fast start and keep the Patriots on their heels throughout the match. The Patriots have also had a very successful season with a 14-2 record. QB Tom Brady has shown everyone that age is not a limiting factor for him, throwing for 28 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions. The defense of the Patriots, however, are the unsung heroes of this team. They are currently ranked #1 in points allowed per game through a physically tough secondary and a punishing defensive line. In order for the Patriots to win this game, their offense have to play smart football and not turn the ball over. Their defense will also need to find an answer for WR Julio Jones and limit the "big plays" that occur. Head Coach Bill Belichick is a master at taking away the opponent's best player, and will have a solid game plan in store for the high octane Falcon offense. I believe this game will be high scoring and will have a nail-biting finish!
