Video: Hopkinton Hillers Sports Update 10-11-2018

-On Wednesday october 10th Hopkinton Hillers girls soccer picked up a big win over previously undefeated Holliston. Gabrielle Weilding was the difference maker, scoring the only goal of the game in the 2nd half. with the goal the Hillers girls are just 3 points away from clinching a playoff spot and improved to 6 wins, 3 losses and 3 ties on the season. Hopkinton girls have won 4 of their last 5 and have not lost a game since back on September 17th.

-The Hopkinton Middle School Football team recorded three 2nd quarter touchdowns against Millis. They added another in the 3rd quarter. The Hillers went on to take down Millis by a final score of 28-6.

- 8th grade field hockey had a comeback win yesterday over Miscoe Hill. 2 goals by Maura Souza & another from Libby Barker-Hook with an assist from Maya Ghosh gave Hopkinton the 3-2 edge. Marissa Smith did an excellent job tending the net!

- The HMS girls' soccer team won their game against Mendon/Upton yesterday 1-0. Keira O'Connor had an unbelievable corner cross and Emily Hayward slammed it into the net. Outstanding defense was played by Jessica Urlage and Casey Tourigny. The girls play at home on Thursday against Millis.

- The HMS boys' soccer team improved its record to 5-0-1 at the halfway mark of the season with a 2-0 victory versus Miscoe Middle School in Mendon. The entire team played well, especially Declan Mick and Sean Golembiewski defensively in front of Danny McCabe who earned the shutout in goal. Leo Shinmura opened the scoring midway through the second half on an assist from Matt Zettek. Jack Green scored the teams 2nd goal on an assist from Peter DeMichele. The boys host Millis on Thursday at 4:30PM on Field 13.
