On Saturday, May 21st HCAM Studios will offer one of two last programs of the season honoring poetry, songs and story of Thea Hopkins, Junko Ogawa and Betsy Binstock.

Thea Hopkins has been described by Folk music icons Peter, Paul and Mary as "one of the most literate, poetic and emotionally moving of the new singer-songwriters to arrive on the scene in the last few years." Junko Ogawa born and raised in Japan, has recently been busy coordinating efforts for Japan Relief Fundraising and when otherwise on the stage, offers songs that range from poignant, to startlingly sensual to respectfully audacious and downright funny. Betsy Binstock, whether writing about Helen of Troy, a child dealing with blindness memories of grandparents or musings about the frogs in her pond... her words have a way of stirring the soul, gladdening the heart and leaving chills on the spine.

An openmic for poetry, spokenword story and song will follow.

Free admission, pass the hat for the features. Fresh baked scones, hot coffee and a very warm and art-vibrant community.
