Veterans Breakfast on the Hopkinton Town Common

Dear Comrades:

Hopkinton Senior Center Director Amy Beck has received permission from the Board of Health and Dept. of Parks and Recreation for the First Friday Veterans Breakfast to gather at the town common (weather permitting) on Friday, October 2, at 9:00am, (with Friday, October 9th as a rain date). Our group size is limited to 50 people, so you should quickly reply "yes" to this email if you are going to attend.

New Program Schedule on HCAM Starts Monday September 28th 2020!

HCAM is switching up our schedule! Starting on September 28th, "The Hopkinton Hangout Hour" will take place every Monday at 2pm and Wednesday's at 7pm.

We are also adding a weekly LIVE sports show "HCAM Sports Talk" which will take place Wednesday's at 3pm and we will have a LIVE weekly Newscast "HCAM News Live" every Thursday at 6:30pm.

Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Warns of Imposter Scam

The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about ongoing scam calls in which criminals are posing as members of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (MSO).

Over the past several days, the MSO has received multiple calls from individuals reporting they had been contacted by men claiming to be deputies. The scammers used the names of real deputies and told citizens they need to turn themselves in or face arrest. In this and similar scams, victims are told they may be able to get out of the arrest by paying a fine using gift cards.

Thomas Joseph Ellam, 72

Thomas Joseph Ellam, 72, of Hopkinton, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Clinton, MA, he was the son of the late Katharine (Durkin) and Joseph H. Ellam. He leaves behind his wife, Susan Stevens of Hopkinton, his daughter, Sarah Stevens Ellam and her husband, Leigh Walker, of Hopkinton, and their two daughters, Rhys Ellam Walker and Tessa Ellam Walker, his son, Matthew Stevens Ellam and his partner, Deanna Meeske, of Boston, and his son Timothy Stevens Ellam and his wife, Shannon, of Everett.

Conversations, Unity and Healing, Friday at 7pm on HCAM

This Friday night, September 25th, singer-songwriter Carolyn Waters and spoken-word artist Cheryl Perreault will offer an hour of concert performance and conversation from their homes via Zoom/Livestreaming that will air Live on HCAM-TV. This concert will offer an intimate performance of some of Cheryl and Carolyn's original songs and spoken-word pieces addressing themes of "unity and healing" for communities as we continue to deal with a global pandemic and the many challenges and reckonings of this year of 2020.

Hopkinton Women's Club Celebrating 100 Years of Service is Hosting Sign for Sale

The Hopkinton Women's Club, now celebrating our 100th year of service, is selling wooden signs for indoor or outdoor use. All profits go to support of our scholarship fund for Hopkinton students and support for other non-profit groups in our community.
