Visioning Steering Group Gives Update to Planning Board

Tim Kilduff from the Visioning Steering Group appeared before the Planning Board during their August 25 meeting to give an update to the Board. A lot of work has been done by the Group and the Group is preparing a survey that will be sent out to the community during the week of September 1. Many members of the Group were in attendance as Kilduff gave his report.

Greyhound Friends Needs Your Support!

Greyhound Friends began leasing the old kennel and land at 167 Saddle Hill Road, Hopkinton on May 1, 1987. Finances were slim and sporadic at the beginning. For several years I lived in the tiny office of the kennel. It was quite awful. But Greyhound Friends took hold, as people steadily adopted dogs and the word spread about these wonderful pets. A steady flow of funds, however, was and still is usually difficult to attain.

Register for Fall/Winter Programs at Parks and Recreation Department Website

Hopkinton Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce registration for Fall/Winter programs will be open for registration on Sept 2. Our brochure is available for preview now at our new and improved website: www.hopkintonrec.org . Check out all the programs that we have to offer including: In-Town Basketball, Ski Programs, Girls of the Run, a Tennis Tournament, even a trip to New York City! New this year, TDA Driver's Ed program will be offered through the Parks and Recreation department!

Fundraising Football Scrimmage

The Hopkinton Athletic Department is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Fundraising Football Scrimmage on Friday, September 5th at 6:30 p.m.

We will ask for an admission/donation of $3 per student and $5 per adult for the game vs Algonquin Regional High School.

All of the proceeds from the game will be donated to local organizations named in honor of former Hopkinton High School students Evan Girardi and Tommy Weaver.

Little Hayden Rowe, Pike & Fenton Closed Thursday

On Thursday August 28th the following roads will be closed to through traffic from 7am-3pm for the installation of the top asphalt course.

Hayden Rowe St – From Main St to Grove St.
Fenton St – Full length.
Pike St – Full length.

If you need to get to a business or residence within the work zones please stop and speak with the detail officers and they will help get you there.

Please seek alternate routes if possible.

Library Seeks Adult Services Librarian

Town of Hopkinton seeks FT (40 Hrs/Week) Adult Services Librarian for its Public Libary – The Adult Services Librarian will provide a wide variety of information and reader’s advisory services as well as instructing customers in the use of library resources and technology. Assists in administrative duties, use of technology, and all other aspect of library management and operations. Other responsibilities include assisting the Library Director with collection development, planning and execution of library programs, budgeting and evaluation and implementation of library services.

Hopkinton Board of Health Vacancy Announcement

On August 22, 2014 the Hopkinton Board of Health notified the Board of Selectmen of a vacancy on the Board of Health due to a resignation and are currently seeking candidates for this position.

Pursuant to Town Charter provision 3-1(e), a joint meeting, consisting of the remaining members of the Hopkinton Board of Health and the members of the Board of Selectmen, will (tentatively) convene on September 9th at a regularly scheduled Board of Selectmen meeting to appoint an individual to temporarily fill this one seat until the next Annual Town Election in May of 2015.
