Town Manager Invites Residents to Take On-line Survey

The Town of Hopkinton is inviting town residents to take part in the 2013 Citizen Survey online. Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey below. Your feedback will help the Town set the benchmarks for tracking services to residents and will assist the Board of Selectmen in setting the priorities and decisions before our community. Project Just Because Christmas in July Fundraiser on July 25

Project Just Because will hold its 2nd Annual Christmas in July fundraiser and silent auction on Thursday, July 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. at their company headquarters located at 86 South Street, Hokinton, MA.

With 90 percent of their donations coming in November and December, the event is an effort to increase donations over the summer and throughout other months to provide funding that is needed now.

Roadwork Notice Update

Due to contractors scheduling conflicts our pavement management roadwork schedule has changed to the following start dates.

7/25/13 - Huckleberry Rd – Fruit St (East) to 1500’ South of Fruit St (East).

7/26/13 - Colonnade Dr – Fruit St to Roosevelt Rd.

7/26/13 - North St – Fruit St to 2180’ West of Fruit St.

One lane of traffic will open on Huckleberry Rd and North St during work working hours. Work hours will be 7am – 5pm.

Colonnade Dr will be closed during working hours. Traffic will enter and exit the subdivision by using Roosevelt Rd.

UFCW Local 1445 Endorses Spilka for Congress

Representing over 15,000 food and commercial workers and their families, UFCW Local 1445 endorsed Karen Spilka for Congress because of her strong record of fighting for the middle class.

Planning Board Reviews Plans for Hopkinton Center for the Arts

The Planning Board met on July 22 to discuss the site plan review and the shared parking special permits for the Hopkinton Center for the Arts. An 8,000 square foot addition to the barn is proposed along with a parking lot that will be shared by Hopkinton High School. Chuck Joseph from the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, engineer Dan McIntyre, Steve Lewis from Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects, and Brian Gassett from Gassett Building Inc. presented the plan.

More Roadwork Underway

Rubber Chip Seal resurfacing work is scheduled for Monday July 22nd and Tuesday July 23rd on the following streets.

7/22- Spring St – From Pond St to the Upton town line.
Saddle Hill Rd – From Daniel Shays (south) to 750’ south of Equestrian Dr.

7/23 – Front St – From Ash St to Clinton St.
Lumber St – 630’ south of West Main St to 3805’ south of West Main St.

Work hours will be 7am – 5pm.

One lane of traffic will be open during construction.

Please expect minor delays and seek alternate routes when possible.
