Elementary School Building Committee Meeting: Possible Sites and Land Use

Following a unanimous Town Meeting vote to fund a Center School feasibility study, Hopkinton’s Elementary School Building Committee (ESBC) met recently to discuss next steps. At the May 22 and June 5 meetings, ESBC members expressed a desire to use time over the Summer to develop foundational knowledge that may be helpful once the formal Feasibility Study is initiated, as well as plan community engagement activities.

Main Street Closure Eastbound - School Buses May Run Late

From the Hopkinton Public Schools: The closure of Main Street eastbound began this morning, Monday, June 17. Main Street eastbound will be closed from Pleasant Street to Grove Street from 7:30 - 4:00 until further notice. All eastbound traffic will be detoured onto Pleasant Street. Police details will be directing traffic along the detour. Main Street westbound will remain open.

HPD Warn of Scams

The Hopkinton Police Department is issuing a public service advisory regarding a popular phone extortion scam that continues to victimize members of this community. In these cases generally an unknown person(s) will call or text the victim and make claims that a family member is under arrest or being held captive and needs money to be sent for their release. The caller may know basic information about the family member. If you are contacted by a party alleging they have a family member in custody it may help to:

Boston Marathon® Champion Highlights 2013 B.A.A. 10K Elite Field

The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) announced on June 14 that 2013 Boston Marathon® men's champion Lelisa Desisa, of Ethiopia, will compete in the 2013 B.A.A. 10K on Sunday, June 23. Desisa will compete among Olympic and World Championship finalists, national record holders, and the defending champions of the B.A.A. Distance Medley. The B.A.A. 10K is the second race of the 2013 B.A.A. Distance Medley, a three-race series which awards $100,000 USD to the male and female with the fastest cumulative time from the three races. HELP! This Sunday on the Common

Help! An All Beatles cover band will be kicking off the 2013 Concerts on the Common series this Sunday, June 16th. All concerts begin at 5pm and take place on the Hopkinton Town Common.

Two Path Productions Presents Kultar's Mime on June 28

Two Paths Productions hosts a special performance of a new immersive theatrical experience on Friday, June 28 at 7pm in Hopkinton MA. The play depicts the violence unleashed upon Sikhs in Delhi in October 1984, following the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, from the perspective of a group of young Sikh children from one of the poorest and worst affected neighborhoods.
