MetroWest Regional Transit Authority Advisory Board Vacancy Announcement

The MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) is currently seeking a volunteer member of the Hopkinton community to serve on the Authority’s Advisory Board. The available position is for the Disabled Community Member seat of the Advisory Board only. This position is an excellent opportunity for a member of the disabled commuter population from Hopkinton who wishes to be a passionate advocate for community and regional transportation related issues for persons with disabilities.

Town Clerk Ann Click Won't Seek Re-election in May

For 17 years, as residents enter the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall, they have been greeted by a familiar face. Since 1997, Ann Click has served as the keeper of Hopkinton’s town records; birth certificates, marriage licenses, voter registrations, census information and more, and she has enjoyed every moment.

“It’s been wonderful, very rewarding,” said Click.

Hiller Hockey

The JV's despite only having two lines, played a great game defeating previously unbeaten Grafton 3-2 in Westboro. The goals were scored by TJ Fujiyoshi, Kyle Canty and Brandon Carty. Tim Montgomery was again great in the nets making some stellar saves especially in the final minutes to preserve the win.

Theater Educator Arlynn Polletta Teaching Courses at HCA

Experienced and respected theater educator Arlynn Polletta will be teaching three courses at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts this spring. Classes include a Creative Movement for Little Ones (children ages 2.9 months to 5 years), musical theater class with a performance of Moosical (ages preK-3rd grade), and an Acting for the Camera (ages 13 and up). Classes will be held at HCA (98 Hayden Rowe) and begin on April 1st.

Janet I. Hawkins, 58

Janet I. Hawkins, 58, lost her courageous battle with liver cancer on February 11, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Norwood. She was diagnosed in September 2012 and badly wanted to beat the cancer and live.

Born in Framingham on December 10, 1954, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Doris A. (Leland) Smith. She worked in Medical Records at Sudbury Pines Extended Care for over 10 years. More recently, she worked at Kindred Hospital in Natick until her illness.

Hillers Cage Wolverines 56-34

Hopkinton Hillers Girls Basketball beat the Westwood Wolverines last night, 56 to 34. This was the Hiller Girls last regular season home game and as tradition goes, the Seniors Tess Chandler, Sarah Moses, Dana Gogolin and their parents were honored at the start of the game. Starter Tess Chandler, who suffered a season ending sprain against Medway, was able to take the floor for her final start of her high school basketball career. You can watch the game on HCAM-ED today at 6:00pm and on HCAM-TV today at 6:00pm.
