Vets Breakfast Friday Jan 4

Dear Vets and Friends:

The Senior Center mess hall will serve a special breakfast for Veterans on Friday, 4 January 2013, at or before 0900 hours. The menu is highlighted by chipped beef. For those on delicate diets, the beef is optional; there's lots of other good chow: eggs, bacon, hash, home fries, biscuits, and plenty of coffee. Invite your friends who don't receive this email.

Best Buddies Movie Night!

Best Buddies will be hosting a movie night on Friday, January 25th in the High School Auditorium. The movie will be "Brave" a Disney Pixar production about Princess Merida who is determined to make her own path in life and defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.”

The time is 6pm and the price is $5 for a family or $2 for individual.

Host Family for Swiss International Student Needed

Program: Our international student program is thriving. We have thirteen students in well placed families this year and two first semester students are extending for the full year. We have three second semester students arriving in January. Two are already placed, however we need a family for a Swiss German 17 year old boy. Please consider this opportunity.

Support HHS: By hosting you'll also be contributing to our school and community. Tuition fees from international students help to support our language programs within the district.

Hiller JV Hockey: Hopkinton 2, Northbridge 1

The Hiller JV's picked up their first win of the season last night with a 2-1 Victory over Northbridge. TJ Fujiyoshi had the first goal on a great pass from Kyle Canty on a 2-1 break. Robbie Cole picked up the second goal of the game with an assist from TJ. Tim Montgomery was outstanding in the net stopping 24 shots.

Auditions for ESL Show Baby on January 2

Enter Stage Left Theater will be hosting auditions for the musical Baby on January 2, 2013 at the HCA Farmhouse. Auditions are by appointment and can be scheduled by emailing Sandee Buckley at sandeezmail312@yahoo.com. Those auditioning are asked to come with a 32 bar cut Musical Theater piece, copies of sheet music for both themselves and the accompanist, and headshots and resumes. Songs from the show preferred if interested in a major role.

Clara Marie Lerman, 55

Clara Marie Lerman, 55, of Hopkinton, passed away unexpectedly after
sixteen years of declining health, on December 18, 2012. Born in Cuba, NY,
she was the daughter of Clara (Korka) Smith of Cuba, NY and the late Oren
Smith. She was the wife of 21 years to Marc R. Lerman of Hopkinton.

Clara had her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from St. Bonaventure
in Orleans, NY. A very intelligent and empathetic woman, she was a poet
and loved writing.

HCAM News Top 5 for 2012

As 2012 draws to end, we always like to look back at our top stories, both in print and in video, for the year. What were our viewers watching? Once again, for the second year in a row, our most popular video was the story about Paul Annunziata's 1975 Plymouth Duster which he donated to Jay Leno's garage. While watched locally for its first year in our top 5, the HCAM News video of Paul's story was incorporated into a video produced by Leno for his garage website, once again making it our most viewed video of the year with a total of 1,777 views on the HCAM website online.

Hopkinton Wrestlers Hoping to See Pink Thursday Night, 7PM in the Doyle Gym

On Thursday January 3rd, Hopkinton Wrestling will dedicate its first home match to the memory of Linda Karner, an enthusiastic Hopkinton fan and wrestling mom who lost her battle with breast cancer this past year. Linda’s son Tom was a standout wrestler and Captain while competing for Hopkinton High School and his sister Jessie continues to manage the team with Coaches Tim Nelson and Corey Mills as she has for the past 7 years.
