Citizens Connect Smartphone App Expands Across the State

The Patrick-Murray Administration and the City of Boston today launched the Commonwealth Connect smart phone application –based on the Citizens Connect app developed for use in the City of Boston by Mayor Menino’s Office of New Urban Mechanics. The expanded App allows residents to report quality of life problems, such as graffiti and potholes, directly to the appropriate local government for resolution.

Massachusetts Agriculture Officials Encourage Consumers to “Gift Local” this Year

With the holiday season underway, Department of Agricultural Resources (DAR) officials are encouraging consumers to “gift local” this year – by choosing from the wide variety of local food, farm and ornamental items found right here in Massachusetts.

“Massachusetts growers and specialty food producers offer an exciting range of seasonal items, perfect for holiday gift giving and decorating,” said DAR Commissioner Greg Watson. “Opportunities abound to support Massachusetts food and agriculture.”

HHS Response to Newtown Tragedy

All of us have been affected by the tragic events that took place a Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT on Friday. As educators, these events hit close to home because we can so easily identify with teachers and administrators that would do anything to protect the children that they work with. As parents, we know that these type of events give you great cause for concern regarding the welfare of your own children.

Hilller Hockey

The Varsity Hockey team took on Tri-Valley foe Bellingham this afternoon at Navin Arena. The Hillers jumped on the board first when Jordan Carroll made a great pass to Steven McCluskey who was alone in front and put it by the goaltender. Brendan O'leary also had an assist. That was Carroll's fourth assist of the young season. Bellingham came back to tie the game at one before Matt Decina jumped in from the point to score a powerpaly goal. Sean Bloomer and Carroll had the assists.

Plannning Board Meets Monday 12/17 - Agenda and Meeting Packet Now Online

The Hopkinton Planning Board will meet on Monday, December 17 in Room 210 at Town Hall. Some of the items included on the agenda are a discussion of the update for the Master Plan, an update from the Zoning Advisory Board with recommended zoning changes and a discussion of the Planning Board's FY2013 goals.

Hiller Hockey

The boys Varsity Hockey team opened the season with a 5-0 shut out over Assabet. Cam Finlayson, Brady Farley and Brandon Carty all scored their first varsity goals and Sean Bloomer added two of his own. Jordan Carroll had 3 outstanding assists and Carty, Johnson and Kinzler all had helpers.
Danny Collins was solid in net stopping all 12 shots he faced. The Hillers carried the play for most of the game and had 27 shots on net. The penalty kill was a perfect 3 for 3.

Next up the Hillers take on Tri-Valley league opponent Bellingham Saturday Afternoon at 1PM @ Navin Arena.

Sister Community to Compass at Hopkinton Coming to Milford

Cornerstone at Milford, a sister community to Compass at Hopkinton, held its official groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, December 6 in Milford, and will offer the same service-enriched Assisted Living and a state-of-the-art Compass Memory Support Neighborhood which is affiliated with the Boston University School of Medicine’s Alzheimer’s Disease Center, to its clients.
