The Library says goodbye to Susan Marshall

Susan Marshall served nearly six years at the Hopkinton Library as the Adult Services Librarian and left a positive impact on nearly everyone she knew.

Youth Services Librarian Denise Kofron; "Some people care to much, I think it's called love, Susan cares a lot, about her job, family, volunteers, the Hopkinton Public Library, and her co-workers, and we love her too."

The Friends of the Library presented Susan with a sample of a quilt from the quilt project. Parks and recreation manager Tim Kilduff presented Susan a signed copy of Meb Keflezighi's book "Run to Overcome" to reward her dedication to promoting the Boston Marathon activities.

Hopkinton Library staff member, Donna Olafsen of the Children's Room " Susan Marshall is to the Hopkinton Public Library as Mickey Mouse is to Disney, I'll miss you Susan, may you have many magical memories."

After the dedications and tributes, Susan stated: "It's emotional high and low's, it's sad to leave all these wonderful people, Hopkinton is the first place that I felt home since I had a workshop in my hometown, right out of college... "This has been a wonderful place to live." Susan then described her animated clothing which represented her sadness of leaving Hopkinton and the excitement of her new venture in Seattle.

Susan delivered an emotional thank you too the many who came to the library to say goodbye; "Thank you for the ride, this has been the most wonderful place. Please just always remember what a special place this is, and don't take it for granted and be kind to each other. "
