Video: Hopkinton Public Library Opens Saturdays

The Hopkinton Public Library celebrated their 1st Saturday open on July 14th. The Hopkinton Public Library will now be open to the public every Saturday from 10am until 4pm. The festivities featured a town-wide scavenger hunt, a dedication of the Hopkinton 300th Anniversary time capsule bench as well as refreshments and other various activities. Hopkinton Community Summer Band Live at Town Common Sunday July 22 at 5pm

The Hopkinton Community Summer Band, supported by the Hopkinton Music Association and Hopkinton Parks and Recreation, will be performing their annual concert on the Hopkinton Town Common Sunday, July 22 at 5pm. (In case of rain, we will perform at the same time in the High School auditorium). The group is made up of community members, college, high and middle school students and few people from neighboring towns. The group performs a wide variety of music so there is something for everyone. We hope to see you there.

Enter Stage Left Theater presents Americana, a musical revue that explores our American ideals through a distinctly homegrown art form — musical theatre.

What does it mean to be American? What are the values we share and the principles we aspire to?

Directed by Mark DiCampo and featuring songs from Hamilton, Ragtime, Assassins, Hair, Oklahoma, and many others, Americana is an entertaining yet thoughtful look at our national identity and how it will be defined by the next generation.

Hopkinton Independent Newspaper now under new ownership

The Publisher/Founder of the Hopkinton Independent, Sarah Lothrop Duckett, announced today that the 20-year-old publication has been sold to two local people. The new owners, David Bagdon and Susanne Farber, bring a wealth of experience in community journalism to their new roles. Bagdon, who will serve as publisher, has been the independent publisher of the Community Advocate Newspaper for 34 years. Farber, who will be the director of business development, has been the advertising account manager for the Hopkinton Independent for 16 years.

Free Pasta Dinner at St. Paul’s July 25

The July Community Pasta Supper at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25. All are welcome to this event, which is being supported by the churches of the Hopkinton Christian Service Connection. This pasta supper is held for the community on the last Wednesday of every month.

The meal will feature pasta (gluten free available), vegetarian tomato sauce, meatballs on the side, green salad, bread, beverages, and dessert.
The pasta supper is free, although donations will be accepted.

Hamilton, America's hottest musical, arrives in Boston this fall

Just days before - September 7th, to be exact - Enter Stage Left Theater, the resident theater company of the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, presents Hamiltunes.

This innovative singalong gives middle and high school students from Hopkinton and surrounding towns the chance to "take their shot" at singing the songs on stage while the enthusiastic (and often costumed) audience joins in.

Hopkinton: There’s a New Calendar in Town!

Hopkinton MA has a new portal for connecting residents to local events and activities: The Community Calendar.

The concept was first discussed at a meeting of the Community Communications Committee. As they discussed ways to bring the Town together, it became clear a logical starting point might be a calendar where Hopkinton organizations and groups could post their activities, raising awareness and interest from town residents.

This past weekend the 15th Annual Sharon Timlin Memorial 5K and Family Fun Day event took place at the Hopkinton High School fields. The event attracted hundreds of people from all over the Northeast and once again raised great funding towards the battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). HPLF Delivers $443,956.00 to Town at Selectmen’s Meeting

At the June 19, 2018 Board of Selectmen meeting, Hopkinton Public Library Foundation, Inc. (HPLF) delivered the first installment of its $1 million contribution from its fundraising campaign. HPLF Board members Laura Barry and Scott Richardson delivered a check payable to the Town of Hopkinton in the amount of $443,956.00. This amount represents the Town’s FY2019 debt service for the Library building project.
