Community Notice: Covid-19 Update, Closures, Social Distancing

Based on the Social Distancing Guidelines from the Hopkinton Health Department, in collaboration with the Hopkinton Emergency Management Group, and continued assessment of the local impact of COVID-19, the Hopkinton Public Schools, Hopkinton Public Library, and Hopkinton Senior Center will be closed through next week (Monday, March 16th, to Friday, March 20th). All Parks & Recreation programs are also cancelled during this time.

Hopkinton Center for the Arts Closed through April 3rd with the exception of private music/art lessons

Hopkinton Senior Center Closing

The Hopkinton Senior Center has made the decision to cancel all programs and events the week of March 16 - 20, 2020. The Senior Center Staff will be available if you have any questions, needs or concerns during this time. Feel free to contact us at 508-497-9730.

We will be re-evaluating our status next week and will keep you posted on future plans.

Community Notice: Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Receive Main Street Corridor Project Update

To ensure clear communication and timely project updates for the Main Street Corridor Project, the Town of Hopkinton has partnered with the leadership of the Hopkinton Chamber of Commerce in a coordinated effort to keep business owners up to date with the project’s schedule, milestones and next steps. Representatives from the Chamber have been meeting with the project team on a regular basis since the end of January and will continue to do so as the project progresses.

Hopkinton Chamber of Commerce: Boston Marathon 2020 Banners

The Hopkinton Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Town of Hopkinton, will again proudly expand Hopkinton’s Marathon footprint during Marathon season by hanging approximately 54 banners along the first mile of the course
(east of Ash Street along RT 135) and on portions of Main Street.

Each year in April, the town of Hopkinton, MA is in the news during the Boston Marathon, and the first mile of the Marathon is seen on World Media outlets for days leading up to and on the day of the big race.

Hopkinton, MA Announces Award of International Marathon Center RFP to 26.2 Foundation

The Hopkinton, Massachusetts Select Board announced this week that the 26.2 Foundation is the winner of the competitive bid process to build and operate an International Marathon Center (IMC) in town. The town issued a request for proposals (RFP) from qualified organizations in July 2019 to lease the East Main Street parcel for the purpose of just such a center.

At this past Tuesday's Select Board Meeting, the Board affirmed the Town Manager's appointment of Cailin Chenelle and Erin Bassler as Senior Library Assistants. The Select Board also authorized a letter of support for the MassDOT proposed improvements to the Fruit Street bridge and approved the award of the lease of property at 45 East Main Street to the 26.2 Foundation for an International Marathon Center.
