HCA Cleans out with Help from Liberty Mutual Employees

On June 17th, the Hopkinton Center for the Arts welcomed seven employees from Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Hopkinton office who helped clean out the garage, storage room and costume closet.”

“We are so grateful to Liberty Mutual Insurance for their help in cleaning out and organizing our storage spaces.” said Kelly Grill, executive director of HCA. “It’s great to have that building de-cluttered and organized, and we are thankful to have such supportive corporate neighbors in town.”

Main Street Construction Update

Starting tomorrow Main Street will have two travel lanes. The parking at the municipal spots on Main Street will be temporarily restricted in the construction zone. Therefore the parking spots that will be utilized for vehicular traffic are from Old Town Liquors to the Main Street/Cedar Street/Grove Street intersection. This area is considered the construction zone for tomorrow. These parking spots will be cordoned off at the close of business today. The affected businesses will be notified the day before for use of the parking spots.

Dunkin Donuts Passes 6-1

The Planning Board voted 6-1 to approve a Major Project Site Plan for a Dunkin Donuts at 78 West Main Street. Applicant Virginio Sardinha Jr., attorney Michael Healy, architect Manny Tavarez from MJ Tavarez Architects, engineer John Kucich from Bohler Engineering, and traffic expert Jennifer Conley from Conley Associates were present at the meeting.

Construction Update: Main Street Detour Ending

The detour will be in affect on Monday, June 24th.

Starting on Tuesday, June 25th the detour will be eliminated and two lanes of travel will occur on Main Street. As a result of the two lanes of travel the public parking spots from 68 to 80 Main Street will be temporarily eliminated.

The parking space that will be used as a travel lane will be cordoned off with roadway barrels the night before at the close of business.

Advancing Women in the Business of Science & Technology

Selectman Michelle Gates would like to inform all Hopkinton residents of some unique opportunities for women. The WEST Organization is hosting a series of workshops on the campuses of MIT and Harvard University for opportunities to help women advance in the fields of science and technology. Launched in 2000, the WEST organization provides a forum for women in science and technology industries to network and share information about career advancement and skill development.

Main Street Hopkinton Shut Down - Traffic Delays Expected

PLEASE BE ADVISED THE CONSTRUCTION CREW ON MAIN STREET HAS HIT A GAS LINE CAUSING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SHUT DOWN MAIN STREET COMPLETELY FROM GROVE STREET TO PLEASANT STREET.

WESTBOUND TRAFFIC IS BEING DETOURED SOUTH (LEFT) ON GROVE STREET, WEST (RIGHT) ON MAPLE STREET, AND NORTH (RIGHT) ON PLEASANT STREET BACK TO MAIN STREET. THE EASTBOUND TRAFFIC WILL CONTINUE AS IT HAS BEEN FOR THE DETOUR DUE TO THE CONSTRUCTION.

PLEASE PLAN EXTRA TIME FOR YOUR TRAVELS AS THIS IS CAUSING DELAYS.
