St. Paul’s Holds Sunday School Registration Sept. 11

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will be hosting Sunday School registration for new and returning students at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 11. This year’s curriculum will be taken from the “Weaving God’s Promise” program, and will be offered to pupils ages 3 to 12 years old. All children are welcome to register for Sunday School, and they and their families are also invited to attend the Holy Eucharistic service at 10:00 a.m., and the pot-luck lunch that will follow the service. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 61 Wood Street/Rte. 135, Hopkinton.

Are you feeling the desire to help others, to give back? Volunteering offers an avenue for exercising your skills and talents and to perhaps develop some new skills. Volunteering has a positive effect on our attitudes and morale. The need to be needed is a primary motivator in our lives.

The Hopkinton Senior Center (28 Mayhew Street) offers many opportunities: Reception, Thrift Shop, Greeters, Computer Lab tutors, Lunch hosts, Waitstaff and Kitchen Assistants, outside gardening, greenhouse, special functions. We are also in need of drivers for local medical appointments.

Diabetes Self-Management Workshop

Learn to take control of your diabetes with this free workshop! The workshop meets on Monday, September 12, 19, and 26, and on October 3, 17, and 24. It takes place at the Hopkinton Senior Center, 28 Mayhew Street in Hopkinton, from 12:30-3:00 PM.

During these six courses, you will learn:

- Techniques to deal with diabetes symptoms, fatigue, pain, and hyper/hypoglycemia
- Better nutrition and exercise choices
- How to improve your patient/physician relationship
- Medications and Management
- Skills to manage symptoms
