Project Just Because Christmas in July Fundraiser

The 4th Annual Christmas in July Fundraiser and Silent Auction will take place on Thursday, July 23 from 7:00-10:00 PM at the Upper Town Hall at 703 Washington Street in Holliston, MA. There will be Beer and wine, hors d'oeuvres, entertainment and a chance to get on Santa's good side early.

90% of monetary donations for Project Just Because come in November and December, yet they are here 12 months a year with 20 programs throughout. They need funding now!

B.A.A. Announces 2016 Boston Marathon Registration Dates

Registration Opens Monday, September 14, at 10:00 a.m. ET

BOSTON - Registration for the 2016 Boston Marathon will open on Monday, September 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. ET. The B.A.A. will use the same process to register qualified runners as it used for the Boston Marathon in 2013, 2014, and 2015, allowing the fastest qualifiers in their gender and age group to register first.

Fatima Day in July at the Shrine in Holliston

On Monday, July 13, the Xaverian Missionaries will hold the traditional Fatima Day celebration in honor of Our Lady. It is going to be our third Fatima Day of 2015. This year’s theme is on Our Blessed Mother Mary in the writings of St. Guido M. Conforti, founder of the Xaverian Missionaries. There will be a sing-along at 6:30 PM with Mass at 7:00 PM. At 8:00 PM, there will be a Rosary and Candlelight procession followed by refreshments served in the Shrine’s Hall. The main celebrant and homilist will be Fr. Joe Matteucig, sx. Fr.

Hopkinton Marine will be at Center School July 2nd to talk about the U.S. Flag

As we near Independence Day, Flag of Hope is proud to announce that Bob Lavoie, a Marine who proudly fought at Iwo Jima and witnessed the flag raising first hand will be at Center School in front of Team Hoyt's statue, sharing some great stories about the battle and what the US Flag means to him. It's not what you would expect. Come talk to Bob and thank him for his service. The event is set to begin at 10:00 am.

Grand Opening of Sandy Beach Postponed to Tuesday.

Hopkinton Parks and Recreation has postponed the Grand Opening of Sandy Beach to Tuesday, June 30th 5:30-7:30 due to impending weather. It looks like much better beach weather next week for a celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony.

It will be an informal, fun, family-friendly event and enjoy the new and improved Sandy Beach!!!!!!!

There will be Hot dogs & Chips, Lemonade, an Ice Cream Truck and Parks and Rec will be selling beach passes as well, and maybe some 300th anniversary items too.

Senator Spilka Receives Marathon Wreath for State House Display

BOSTON – Consul General of Greece in Boston Ifigenia Kanara, Tim Kilduff of the 26.2 Foundation and Hopkinton Selectman Brian Herr presented a gold olive branch wreath from Marathon, Greece to Senate President Stan Rosenberg and Senator Karen Spilka at the State House last week. The wreath will be displayed in Senate Room 428 of the State House in a permanent exhibit of artifacts of importance from districts across the state.
