Video Segment: Signs Up Around Town Raising Runner Awareness
You will see signs placed strategically throughout Hopkinton. The signs are an effort by several organizations to make sure drivers look out for runners training as we get closer to the Marathon.
Garden Club 4/21 Event: “Designing Window Boxes and Containers”
On Tuesday, April 21st Carol Julien will present container and window box ideas including plant materials and color schemes to use in all four seasons. Plant material varieties will include annuals, perennials, herbs, and cut greens for winter allowing you to envision how to combine plants of all types to achieve the look you want. Maintenance of plant materials will be discussed and, Carol will put together a container using in season plants available at the time of the lecture.
Wipers On? Lights On!
A new Massachusetts law requires drivers to turn headlights on when the vehicle's windshield wipers are needed.
The law that goes into effect April 7 says headlights should be in use 30 minutes before sunrise and sunset or when visibility is under 500 feet.
Drivers can be ticketed for failing to comply with the new headlight law, and it is considered a minor surchargeable traffic violation and surcharges may result in increased insurance premiums.

Hopkinton 300 Golf Tournament June 1

Greg Mazur an entrepeneur who owns 30 through 34 Main street in downtown Hopkinton applied for a permit to change parking capacity regulations so his tenant's food shops Vinny's Pizza and the soon to be open Yogurt Beach can have 18 seats each.
Urbanity Dance Seeks Regional Talent for Summer Intensive
Urbanity Dance, Boston’s leading contemporary dance company, is hosting auditions for dancers aged 11-24 for its Summer Intensive program, running July 27-August 14 in Boston’s historic South End. Upcoming auditions take place at Urbanity Dance headquarters (1180 Washington St., #100, Boston) on April 19, 2015 from 1:30-3:00 pm.
5th Annual Friends of Hopkinton Football Golf Outing
A fundraiser to support the Hiller Football Program will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Shining Rock Country Club in Northdbridge with an 8:00 AM-Shotgun Start.
The cost is $150 per player ($125 for graduates within 5 years of HHS)
Registration includes 18 holes of golf, cart, gift, barbecue lunch, raffle prizes, and auction items.
You can register as a foursome or individually or Sponsor a Hole ($100 per hole).
