The May Community Pasta Supper at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30. All are welcome to this event, which is being supported by the churches of the Hopkinton Christian Service Connection. This pasta supper is held for the community on the last Wednesday of every month.
The meal will feature pasta (gluten free available), vegetarian tomato sauce, meatballs on the side, green salad, bread, beverages, and dessert.
The pasta supper is free, although donations will be accepted.
We are mandated by the town’s water management permit issued by the State, to limit nonessential outdoor use, to protect stream flow, aquatic life and ensure sustainable drinking water. The town is required to implement a MANDATORY State of Water Supply Conservation from May 1st , through September 30th, each year, pursuant to the town’s water use restriction by-law. Under chapter 199-6 Section F; Lawn sprinklers may be used for lawn watering, two days per week, outside of the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Residents are encouraged to attend and get the answers they need from town officials about all articles to be voted on at Town Meeting. For those who cannot attend in person, the forum will be broadcast on HCAM-TV (Comcast 8/Verizon 30) and streamed on Facebook Live at facebook.com/eHop01748.
The Town of Hopkinton announces an electronic voting pilot program that will debut at Town Meeting to increase participation, ensure accuracy, and allow for a prompt tally of votes.
The decision was made to pilot electronic voting with the Boston based company, Voatz, due to the technology, ease of use, security, and on-site support provided at meetings. We are committed to a Town Meeting that allows for full discussion of the the important issues facing Hopkinton, while increasing the efficiency and participation of each meeting.
On Wednesday May 2nd at 7pm, HCAM will host Hopkinton Town Election debates for the contested races. This year there are 5 contested races: Board of Library Trustees, Board of Health, Board of Selectmen, Planning Board and School Committee. The debates will take place in the HCAM studios which are located at 77 Main Street on the lower level. Panelists this year include Michelle Murdock and Jim Kleinkauf from the Hopkinton Independent and HCAM News Director, Tom Nappi.
BOSTON—Today, the Massachusetts Senate passed a $156.4M supplemental budget to cover increased caseloads and time sensitive deficiencies in Fiscal Year 2018, including additional funding for Regional Transit Authorities, local school districts’ special education costs and programs for Massachusetts children and families.
The Town of Hopkinton has released the following public notice: "Per Section 4-11(b) of the Town of Hopkinton Charter, the Board of Selectmen hereby gives notice that the Board of Selectmen and the remaining members of the Planning Board will vote to fill one Planning Board Vacancy on May 2, 2018, 7:00 p.m., Hopkinton Senior Center, 28 Mayhew Street."
The Board of Selectmen and Planning Board will vote in a board member to take over for a vacated spot by Kelly Karp. The member voted in will remain on the Planning Board until the 2019 Town Election.

On Monday Night, the Hopkinton Board of Health hosted two Public Hearings. The first public hearing was "to consider adoption of a reduction in Single-Use plastic check out bags." The regulation bans single-use plastic check-out bags at any retail or grocery store within the town of Hopkinton. After no protest at the Public Hearing, the Board of Health voted unanimously to pass the regulation. The Board of Health will be the enforcing authority to ensure that all retail and grocery store businesses within Hopkinton comply with the regulation.
