Video: Board of Health Bans Plastic Bags and Increases Tobacco Age

On Monday Night, the Hopkinton Board of Health hosted two Public Hearings. The first public hearing was "to consider adoption of a reduction in Single-Use plastic check out bags." The regulation bans single-use plastic check-out bags at any retail or grocery store within the town of Hopkinton. After no protest at the Public Hearing, the Board of Health voted unanimously to pass the regulation. The Board of Health will be the enforcing authority to ensure that all retail and grocery store businesses within Hopkinton comply with the regulation.

Community Notice: Fire Flow Tests to Take Place Saturday April 28th

Please be advised that Dell/EMC will conducting required fire flow tests on Saturday April 28th in the morning. Because these tests will take place on main transmission lines, customers may notice some discoloration during and after the tests throughout town. Please avoid doing any laundry, dishwasher loads or other water use activities, during this time. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate. Please check you water before using it. You may need to run your cold water line to clear your internal pipes after the test is complete.

Hopkinton Women's Club Host Meet the Candidates Night Wendesday April 25th at HCAM

The Hopkinton Women's Club is holding the 31st annual Meet the Candidates Night on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 7:00 PM in the HCAM-TV studio. We encourage townspeople to attend and ask questions of the citizens running for office in the May 21st Town Election. Home viewers will have the opportunity to pose questions to the candidates using a phone number posted on the TV screen. Questions can also be e-mailed ahead of time or that evening to live@hcam.tv

EHOP To Hold Sixth Annual Spotlight Forum On Town Meeting

eHop (educate • engage • empower | Hopkinton) will hold its 6th Annual Spotlight Forum on Town Meeting: Know Your Vote on Monday, April 30, 6:30-8:30 pm in the Hopkinton High School library. Residents are encouraged to attend and get the answers they need from town officials about all articles to be voted on at Town Meeting. For those who cannot attend in person, the forum will be broadcast on HCAM-TV (Comcast 8/Verizon 30) and streamed on Facebook Live at facebook.com/eHop01748.

Community Notice: Today is Last Day to Register to Vote in Annual Town Meeting

Today is the last day to register to vote in the Annual Town Meeting (May 7, 2018) and Annual Town Election (May 21, 2018). To ensure those wishing to register can do so, I will be open until 8:00 PM tonight (April 17, 2018) to accept affidavits of voter registration which we will have available in the office at 80 South Street.

Hopkinton Republican Town Committee Caucus Endorses Four Candidates

The Hopkinton Republican Town Committee Caucus endorsed four experienced and well qualified candidates for town office in the April 12th Caucus.

Brian Herr was endorsed for re-election to the Board of Selectmen. He currently serves on the Board of Selectmen and has been Chairman. Previously Brian has served the town on the Planning Board and the Personnel Committee.

Mark Hyman was endorsed for election to the Planning Board. Mark is the current Chairman of the Board of Appeals and is serving on the Zoning Advisory Committee.
