Members of the Hopkinton Garden Club were especially excited to ring in the new year as 2024 marks 100 years of cultivating gardens and friendships. In anticipation of this landmark anniversary, the Hopkinton Garden Club has been planning several events throughout the year to mark this momentous occasion.

To kick off the year of celebration, the Hopkinton Garden Club has invited Jessa Piaia to present as Mrs. Isabella Stewart Gardner in April, which will be open to the public. In the spring, there will be a beautiful 100th anniversary educational display at the Hopkinton Public Library for the pleasure of the community and this year’s beloved annual Plant Sale will feature a special giveaway.

The most anticipated event, however, is the National Garden Club Horticulture Specialty Show put on by the Hopkinton Garden Club, member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts. It has been over 20 years since HGC hosted a flower show so bringing it back for the 100th anniversary felt fitting. Participating exhibitors will include HGC members, Hopkinton Girl Scouts, Seniors from the Hopkinton Senior Center and the Hopkinton Public Schools. In addition to horticulture exhibits, there will be exhibits about conservation groups in Hopkinton and Native Plants.

The Hopkinton Garden Club’s 100th Anniversary year fun continues at Hopkinton Family Day with the much anticipated decorate-a-pumpkin annual activity and other pumpkin fun. The HGC hopes the community will enjoy and benefit from the yearlong celebration and consider joining in cultivating more gardens and friendships for many more years to come.
