Enter Stage Left Theater proudly presents, The Drowsy Chaperone, a masterful meta-musical that pokes fun at the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre. With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and the fun begins.

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another, performed by 20+ high school and college age actors from Hopkinton and surrounding towns. As director Alyssa Rae Surrette explains, “This family-friendly, lighthearted show with a message is about finding happiness wherever you are and appreciating the moment.”

August 3, 4, 9 & 10, at 7:30 p.m.; August 5 at 3:00 p.m. Hopkinton Center for the Arts, 98 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton. Tickets are $22.00 for adults, $18.00 for students and seniors.
