Town of Hopkinton Seeks Facilities Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities include performance of semi-skilled, mechanical, and routine building and grounds maintenance tasks, as well as assistance and monitoring of contractors with building construction, maintenance, remodeling tasks, etc. in various fields such as carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). Must possess good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the general public, department managers, and employees; ability to multi-task in decentralized areas; ability to identify needs for repairs; operates and services light power equipment; must be able to work independently and with a team; ability to follow written or verbal instructions; and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships others.

Qualifications: Minimum 3-5 years experience in a facilities/business setting performing building maintenance and custodial work; semi-skilled building and grounds maintenance tasks required. H.S. diploma required; apprenticeship training and/or technical/vocational course work in building and grounds maintenance preferred. Intermediate level skills with MS Office Suite; strong with Excel spreadsheets required; familiar with Gmail, Google Docs and Smart Phones a plus. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with good driving record required. Must have reliable transportation.
