The FBI is the lead law enforcement agency responsible for investigating the bombings at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013. Providing information and assistance to victims of these crimes is part of that work. Crimes can have a devastating effect on victims, as well as their families who may need assistance coping with the impact of the victimization.
The Hopkinton Water Department has partnered with the Great American Rain Barrel Company in Hyde Park, MA to offer rain barrels to residents at a discount to help conserve water and save money.

Earlier today I was honored to represent the citizens of Hopkinton at the Interfaith Healing Service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston. People of all faiths gathered to remember those who lost their lives and to offer prayers for those injured by the senseless acts of violence on Patriots Day.
In a letter sent earlier today, Representative Carolyn Dykema (D-Holliston) calls on the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to respond to concerns about the validity of the application for a resort casino license in Milford.
"What is surprising is that despite their significant role, the owners of Foxwoods are not on the list of qualifiers subject to Gaming Commissioner background checks," Dykema writes in the letter. "These checks are viewed by the legislature as essential to promoting the highest standards of quality and ethics for gaming operations in the Commonwealth."
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino have announced the formation of The One Fund Boston, Inc. to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.
"I am humbled by the outpouring of support by the business community and individuals who are united in their desire to help; The One Fund Boston will act as a central fund to receive much needed financial support," said Governor Patrick. "At moments like this, we are one state, one city and one people.."

The Run Around Hopkinton Marathon Relay is sponsoring a morning run to show solidarity and support for those affected by the bombings at the Boston Marathon finish line on Saturday, April 20 at 7:30AM at the start line in Hopkinton.

On April 16, legislators from across the Commonwealth and a strong contingent from Westborough participated in a tour of Westover Air Reserve Base. The visit was coordinated by base leadership with the help of Westborough resident, Air Force Colonel Brent French, and Representative Carolyn Dykema (D-Holliston).
The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development today reported that the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS) preliminary March 2013 jobs estimates show that Massachusetts lost 5,500 jobs over the month and the total unemployment rate edged down to 6.4 percent from the 6.5 percent rate in February.
Education and Health Services and Leisure and Hospitality added jobs in March. In the first three months of 2013, Massachusetts added 12,600 jobs. Over the year, Massachusetts added 40,300 jobs, 37,300 of which were in the private sector.
