June 14th 2014 - Autumn Kramer of Hopkinton High School placed 2nd in the girls javelin at the New England Championships at Bridgewater State University. Her throw of 129-11 was a school record.

Cornerstone at Milford held Grand Opening

Cornerstone at Milford, Milford's newest assisted living community held its long awaited Grand Opening on June 12. The new senior community, managed by Massachusetts-based Senior Living Residences, saw more than 150 guests including residents and their families, several local community leaders, local eldercare professionals and members of the team that built the community.

DCR Opens Several Beaches and Waterfronts Early to Accommodate Visitors

Due to the warm weather conditions forecasted for later this week, the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Commissioner Jack Murray is pleased to announce that the following DCR beaches and waterfronts will be staffed and guarded 7 days-a-week beginning Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Lifeguards will be on duty from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Summer News Notes from the 4H Clubs

The Woodville Trailbusters 4H Horse Club and Woodville Crafty Cats 4H Club are already working on props for their 7th Annual Haunted Trail Walk in October. This year, scenes will be about Ghostbusters, Plant Shop with many different flowers of all types, sizes and colors. Some may really like people, too. Doctor MacGregor has been experimenting in his garden with veggies. Shoot-out at the corral and cemetery with legendary outlaws. The torture chambers have an added feature. The Addams family will have some members visiting the walk.
