Dear Middlesex County Parents and Guardians:

With prom and graduation season upon us, we are approaching a fun and exciting time for students and their families. We want to send this letter to urge you to do all that you can to make it a happy and safe time for your teen.

Hillers in the Shriners Game

The Hopkinton Football Team is proud to announce that the Hillers will be sending three representatives to the Massachusetts Shriners All-Star Football Classic played on June 22 at Bentley Stadium.

Both Ryan Bohlin and Jake Lehman will be playing for the South squad and Head Coach Jim Girard will serve as the South Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach.

HPTA Online Auction Ends April 1st at 9PM

The HPTA has begun its 30th Annual Auction, auctioning off hundreds of fun and unique items online, all to raise money for the Hopkinton schools. They hope to make this their largest annual fundraiser, the most successful one yet. Go to the Bidding For Good auction daily to check for the latest additions. Refer your family and friends - even out of town folks.

Three Finalists Selected in Center School Principal Search

Hopkinton Interim Superintendent, Dr. Steven Hiersche, is pleased to announce that the Center School Principal Screening Committee has identified three outstanding candidates for further consideration for the position of Center School Principal. The Screening Committee included representation from building level and central office administration, professional teaching staff, as well as a parent representative.

The Screening Committee interviewed eight applicants. The following candidates (in alphabetical order) will be further considered:

Hopkinton High School Principal Public Forum April 3

The search process for the next Principal of Hopkinton High School is nearing completion. There will be an opportunity for interested faculty, staff, parents, and community members to meet each of these candidates on Wednesday, April 3rd, from 7:00-8:30 PM, and provide feedback to the Superintendent. This public forum will be held in the High School Auditorium. Those attending will have opportunity to hear the candidates speak about their experience and training, ask the candidates questions, and complete a feedback sheet that Dr. Hiersche will consider when making his selection.

Spring Green Up and Shredding Day April 27

Join us for Hopkinton's 5th Annual Spring Green Up by meeting at the Town Common at 9:00 am on April 27th. Many town organizations, clubs and neighborhoods will again be participating in our effort to clean up Hopkinton. Please grab a pair of gloves and a garbage bag and either head out your door to pick up trash or identify an area of town that needs clean up and head there. We will be working with town groups to organize clean up of areas in need of clean up. Please let us know where you plan to go so that we do not duplicate efforts. Let's make this year our best year yet!

Gaming Commission Approves Draft of Phase 2 Regulations - Comments Welcome

On March 28, 2013, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission approved a set of draft Phase 2 regulations for purposes of commencing the process towards final promulgation. There are two parts that comprise the draft: 1. An update to the existing regulations, and 2. New regulations governing the phase 2 licensing process.

Join the Boy Scouts for Breakfast!

On Saturday, April 6, the Boy Scouts from Troop 4 will hold their 4th Annual Pancake Breakfast. Breakfast will be served by the scouts from 7:30 AM until 11:30 AM inside the Church Hall at St. John the Evangelist, located at 20 Church Street in Hopkinton. The boys will cook original, chocolate chip and gluten/nut/dairy free pancakes. They will also serve sausages, juice, coffee and more. After a successful first three years they are planning to serve over 500 people!
