Repeal the Casino Deal Meeting March 9

On Saturday, March 9, a meeting to organize a statewide ballot question repealing the state's casino law will take place. The meeting is being coordinated by the group called Repeal the Casino Deal, a group of citizens opposed to legalized gambling. The meeting agenda includes: how the repeal process works, the timeline, discussing a plan of action and the ways in which people can make a difference.

HHS Drama Ensemble Presents "Uncommon Nonsense"

On March 7-9th the Hopkinton Drama Ensemble will present their original play, Uncommon Nonsense. This unique production has been written collectively by students for a cast of 33 and reflects Hopkinton’s creativity and innovation at its highest level. Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, our play follows a college-bound Alice, trapped behind the fourth wall, lost in a play of her mind’s creation, searching for her identity.

Host Families for International Students Needed for the 2013-2014 School Year

Program: Consider hosting one of Hopkinton High School's international students for the next school year or for a semester. Students from Brazil, Italy, China, Norway and Sweden have been accepted. Host families find their lives enriched sometimes in surprising ways and some have made life long friends.

Support HHS: By hosting you'll also be contributing to our school and community. For example in addition to cultural understanding and friendship, tuition fees from international students support our Mandarin language program at Hopkinton High School.

Town Clerk Ann Click Looks Back on Years as Hopkinton's Town Clerk

Ann Click first ran for Town Clerk in May of 1997 to fill an unexpired term held by her mother, Mary Bernice Nealon. At that time, the position was part-time, but Click says within a year it became a full-time job as the personnel committee at the time realized the need for a full-time town clerk. In May of 1998, she ran again and was unopposed. And for the past 16 years, Click has remained unopposed at election time and her face and name have become, for many residents, the personification of Hopkinton’s Town Hall.

Sale of Baked and Commemorative Items to Support 300th Anniversary March 29-30

The 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee will be hosting a bake sale on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 at the Hopkinton Historical Building located at 168 Hayden Rowe Street. “The Hopkinton Bead”, “Hopkinton Fire Fighters 2013 Calendar, “Hopkinton Commemorative Coins and “Hopkinton Tiles”, as well as baked goods, will all be available for purchase. All sterling silver beads feature the letter H, may be purchased with or without an unusual green garner stone, and fit Pandora and most charm bracelets. 16 and 18 inch green or black necklaces are also available.
