Yoga - A Way of Life

A discourse and demonstration by Shubhada Wavikar of The Sacred Grove, a yoga studio in Hopkinton, MA., will take place at the Hopkinton Senior Center on Wednesday, August 17 at 7:00 PM. Shuba will talk about the origin, types and branches of yoga. We will discuss the mind - body - soul connection in yoga, and note some research supporting yoga's health benefits. We will briefly touch upon postures (asanas), some breathing techniques (pranayama), hand gestures (mudras), and meditation. We will also discuss the concept of mindfulness. We welcome you to attend this workshop.

Heathers The Musical Opens at Hopkinton Center for the Arts this August

Enter Stage Left Theater (ESL) presents Heathers The Musical for four laugh-out-loud performances this August in Hopkinton. Heathers is a witty, fast paced musical that tells the story of Veronica Sawyer, a brainy, beautiful teenage misfit who finds herself in the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High – the Heathers. Directed by NYU faculty Rachel MacKenzie, Heathers The Musical runs Fridays and Saturdays, Aug. 12-13 and Aug. 19-20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts (98 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton). Tickets are $25 adults and $18 for students and seniors (60+).

K-9 Officer Cesh gets the Bad Guy at HPD National Night Out

Sergeant Stone & K-9 Cesh of the Holliston Police Department stopped by the Hopkinton Police National Night Out at Hopkinton Middle School to give a demonstration on some of the tasks of the K9 unit. Sergeant Stone & K-9 Cesh demonstrated how Cesh can find an item based on smell and also how Cesh can chase down the bad guy with the help of another Officer in a training suit. National Night Out is a nation wide event to encourage safety in communities and allows residents of all ages an opportunity to get to know Police officers and law enforcement serving in their community. Spectator ticketing for the 2016 KeepSmlilin4Abbie Field Hockey fundraiser is now open! Spectator tickets are $12 when purchased on-line, $15 at the door on the day of our event: August 6, 2016.

Your ticket will include a tee shirt and a key chain! We'll have food trucks as well so you can eat great BBQ while you watch the Hiller alumni take on the Hiller 2015 varsity squad. We'll also have an exhibition game between community leaders and parents of the program.
