The Hopkinton Police Department hosted their 5th annual National Night Out. National Night Out is a country-wide community building program that allows community memebers to meet local law enforcement officials. With a few exceptions, the event is typically hosted by different Police Departments around the country every first Tuesday of August.
Town Notice: Notice of Vacancy on Historical Commission
The Town of Hopkinton seeks residents who are interested in serving on the Historical Commission.
MGL Chapter 40 §8D authorizes the establishment of a Historical Commission for the preservation, protection and development of the historical or archaeological assets of any such city or town. Projects entrusted to the Commission include conducting research for places of historic or archaeological value, assisting cooperatively with others engaged in such research and carrying out other initiatives for the purpose of protecting and preserving such places.
Hopkinton Community Notice: State Primary to be held on Tuesday, September 4th
Dear Voters of Hopkinton,
The deadline to register to vote in the State Primary being held on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018 is 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 15th, 2018. If you are unsure about your registration please check online here or call us at the office to check. We will be open until 8:00 PM at Town Hall for residents to register to vote if they have not already. You may also register through online voter registration if you are unable to make it into the office during our hours of operation.
Notice of Public Hearing: Greyhound Friends Inc. on Tuesday, August 7th 2018
The Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at 8:00 p.m. at HCAM TV-Studio, (Lower Level), 77 Main Street, Hopkinton, pursuant to M.G.L. c.140 §137C relative to the Greyhound Friends, Inc. dog kennel at 167 Saddle Hill Road, for the purpose of determining whether the kennel is being maintained in a sanitary and humane manner and/or if records are properly kept as required by law. This public hearing has been rescheduled from March 28, 2017.
Editorial: Animal Welfare Community Group Urges Hopkinton Selectmen to Revoke Greyhound Friends Kennel License
The animal rescue community has come together to urge the Town of Hopkinton to permanently revoke the kennel license of the dog kennel Greyhound Friends. Many in the community were shocked by a 236-page state report documenting Greyhound Friends’ neglect of sick and injured dogs, including a dog with aggressive cancer.
