Hopkinton Center for the Arts Receives $10K in Additional Scholarship Funds for Students in Need this Summer

Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) announces the receipt of an additional $10,000 to its existing scholarship funds for students attending its 2021 Summer programs. The HCA regularly awards need-based scholarships through its Sandra Delbridge Scholarship Fund, but the additional funds will provide an additional 15 to 20 students the opportunity to enjoy creative theater, fine art, film, music, and dance programs. This year's summer session runs from June 28 through August 27 and is open to students ages 4 to 17.

The Lauren Anderson field project is completed and they recently hosted a dedication ceremony. Speakers included School Superintendent, Dr. Carol Cavanaugh, Friend & Classmate, Curran Leahy-Lonigro, Lauren's Mother, Riki Anderson Rubin and Field Project Team Leader, Kathy Kilduff.

After the ceremony, a softball game was held to honor Lauren's memory between Hopkinton Alumni and the HHS Girls Varsity Softball Team. View scenes below.

On the Thursday, May 6th edition of HCAM News Live at 6:30pm, we have scenes from the Lauren Anderson softball field dedication ceremony, hcam hosted a debate for the school committee race and we have some upcoming happenings in town to tell you about but first, educate hopkinton hosted their annual know your vote program in preparation for Saturday’s Annual Town Meeting.

HCAM News will be live every Thursday on HCAM-TV at 6:30pm until 7pm to keep you up to date with all that is happening in Hopkinton.

need as possible we are offering another Saturday distribution day.
This event is for anyone that needs help with food or
knows someone that needs help.

The Hopkinton Freedom Team and Hopkinton Youth & Family Services Announce Upcoming Active Bystander trainings

The Hopkinton Freedom Team and Hopkinton Youth & Family Services are very pleased to announce two upcoming Active Bystander trainings that the Hopkinton community are invited to participate in for free as a way to work toward our town commitment of moving beyond tolerance to promoting town unity and embracing our community’s diversity. One pair of trainings is for high school and college-age youth only on May 25, 2021 and June 21, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. both days.

HCAM Presents the 2021 School Committee Debate on Tuesday, May 4th at 7pm!

On Tuesday, May 4th at 7pm, HCAM will host the School Committee Hopkinton Town Election debate. This year there is 1 contested race: School Committee. The debates will take place through zoom and questions will be asked by HCAM News Director, Tom Nappi.

The School Committee debate between Meg Tyler, Amanda Fargiano and Jared Pray will start at 7pm. There are 2 available seats for School Committee and 3 candidates.

This past Wednesday, the Hopkinton Women’s club hosted their annual Meet the Candidates Night. This years Annual Town Election will take place on Saturday, May 22nd starting at 8am at Hopkinton Middle School. In the video below, you'll hear from the candidates in this years only Contested Race, School Committee.
